^^ no the fan starts normally also when the bike's temp reaches a certain level. the overheat indicator will light up only when there is an abnormality and the temperature has gone beyond the fan control temperature as well.
under normal conditions the bike can be cooled by the radiator, and the fan ( provided coolant is adequate ). But say if temperatures are around 45 degrees, you are stuck in traffic, and have managed to rev the engine a lot standing still, it might go into overheat.
If, and a big IF if you encounter a overheat condition, first shut down the bike, let it cool down, check coolant, see if the fan is running before you shut down the bike.
After restarting the engine, if it still heats up, then get it checked, if it runs normally, then you had the above issue.

Says much about the service levels by Yamaha... where most people did not expect any answer from them, you have not just got a call with a promise to resolve your issue but instant action to resolve the problem... I personally believe that service levels across the automotive industry in India have a long way to go, but if I have to choose between the service of Yamaha and other bike manufactures... I will go with Yamaha any day... apart from minor irritations they have never disappointed me...Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostGot a call from yamaha and was put into a conference with the svc here against whom i had lodged a complaint. You wouldnt believe the tone of the guy with which he spoke. He was ok with anything and everything. Seemed like even if i wanted to put vegetable oil in the bike he would be ok with it now
Just saw what an email can do. Gave me a service date in 2 days as opposed to the 15 days i was told of earlier.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

There's another alternate product, called TVS Girling brake clean (it was featured in Bike India). The cost mentioned was something like 290, and it was also a brake cleaner. As fas as my guess goes, people who're too lazy to open up the brake assembly to clean, this is a quick fix. Must have de-greasing agents which clear out brake dust, muck, oil, and contaminants to return 99% braking performance.Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostYep even id like to know about this!anyone?
You get the point?? :D

Sir, with all due respect to you and your decision to put this tire on your bike, I'd say 'BAD MOVE'.Originally posted by chiragh View PostFinally tyre upgrade !!!
Bike is now equppied with rear zapper vyde ( VERY VERY HARD TO FIND ONE ) 120/80 R 17 tyre ...
Here are few pics , hope u guys like them !!
I've personally ridden an R15 which had this same tire at the rear and the handling was nowhere near the R15 mark. Add to that acceleration had dropped considerably as I had to pull upto 7-8k rpm just to get a little acceleration from the vehicle. Regarding the FE, I cant say anything as I barely rode the '120rear section R15' form around 50kms, but it will be safe to assume that the FE WILL surely drop. I did not get the chance to check the top end of that r15 but I think that the top end would also come down by a considerable margin.
I'd go back and change the tire to the stock one if I were you.
