guys my bike is 1500KM old and i have started to participate in few drag races where the bike will be always in redline or changing gears @ 10K rpm
My question is-->is it too early for the bike's engine to give so much stress, was i doing it too early even before the 2nd service is done and i have draged her several times maybe 7 or 8 times should i stop this drag thing for the time being or there's no problem to continue it. what are the beatings does the engine gets if i keep dragging...

There are two kinds of light--the glow that illumines, and the glare that obscures.

^^ youve already done the drags, so whats the point worrying now. even if you had to be careful with the engine, its already taken the stress.
Relax, its fine it can take it. Now concentrate on weight reduction to get better acceleration, higher tyre pressure etc.

well, my bike has covered only 4200 kms.Originally posted by digislayer View PostHow many KMs did your bike do? Consider tappet adjustment only if it's like 10k-15k kms unless you redline your bike all the time.
i am frustrated with the vibrations
i can just feel them at 4000 rpm
i do not know what is wrong.
what do you think it is?yEs yAmAhA!

the r15 is not a dragging tool.BTW how many times have you won during these 7-8 times?looks like you haven't won any that is why you are now regretting about the aftermath of dragging. he he. enjoy nailing the bike and let it rest in peace........forever.Originally posted by TwistedSouL View Postguys my bike is 1500KM old and i have started to participate in few drag races where the bike will be always in redline or changing gears @ 10K rpm

RX100, Shogun, Ind-Suzuki are some of the names that i remember that can be used for drag in quarter miles but this are 2 strokes.Originally posted by jd666 View PostA lil OT here, but if the R15 is not meant for dragging, then which bike do u guys reckon is??? ( in 4 strokes )
P220 can be very good if tweaked well in 4 stroke category. My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. Please read my comment carefully before replying. :)

Nope, that's not drag bike either.Originally posted by harshit.d View PostI know reply would be 250R, that's why this constrain!!!???
EDIT: Remember, any regular use vehicle should not be used for drag, it was never made for such stress.
Make a special vehicle for drag racing and always remember don't fall bait for illegal street racing.Last edited by jigar2speed; 08-12-2010, 06:32 PM.My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. Please read my comment carefully before replying. :)

Racing on the streets is nothing more than road hooliganism!!
What i meant was about doing on an isolated patch.
Tweaked R!5 is not a bad idea for that.My thoughts...

As such, no bike is a drag bike, because its not specifically set up/prepared that way.
But that doesn't mean you can't drag on these bikes. In general, any high-rpm usage is taxing, but some bikes can handle it occasionally.
But yes, why use the bike for street-racing, when its so sweet around corners....
You get the point?? :D

help me please!
I also had faced the same problem in the past after an accident. The problem solved after the svc guys cleaned the air filter. You try it, you can do it yourself. Then let us know the result.

You want to drag... Try the RD 350 HT, or an LT jetted & port polished... Add an expansion to it.
Its AWESOME = Nothing else gives you an adrenalin rush like a 2stroke
BUT ensure your all padded up and are on an isolated plain >
