couple of questions?
1. Whenever my bike has been in the cold for more than a couple of hours: especially when I crank her in the mornings for the 1st time, she always has her RPM needle around 1.7 (without the throttle) and then gradually after a bit of idling, it comes down to 1.4 and that's when I take her out. Can you let me know why is it like that?
2. Few days back I had made a bang-pune-bang trip. When back in town I could notice that front brakes were kind of giving out a feeling as though there was a lump in the front tyre while braking. The brake lever too would move in tandem with that lump. So, during her routine service, I reported this to the SVC and the guy just tightened the front forks and that feeling was gone 80% (some of it is still there). Can you let me know whats the relation with the forks to the brakes or have I heard wrong?
thanks

I guess this is what is the intelligence of Electronic Fuel Injection or the ECU controlling. When the engine is cold then RPM would remain high (around 1.7-2K) and once the engine attains its optimal temperature it will return back to its normal value (1.3).Originally posted by dsids View Postcouple of questions?

Motul Motocool
Does anyone have any idea where I can buy Motul Motocool coolant in Mumbai's western suburbs? Just came back from the Factory Shop, they refused to sell me a bottle
.

Both ways i am happy about the new bike as well as the new tyre specification from MRF as they matter to me a lot!!

if so.. could anyone plz post sum pics....!
I'm thinking of getting the LE so hopefully mine could be the first LE R15 on xbhp
........ but the thing is I can't get her till May and I'm kinda not sure if the LE would be available by then.....any estimates on what sort of period the LE would be up for grabs??
Btw: I visited jinder yamaha @ saraswati vihar today, and I have the prices at delhi w.e.f 12/3/10
R15 (normal colours) Ex-showroom:98001 OTR 103947
R15 (LE) Ex-showroom:100000 OTR 106021
Also, the sales guy told me that there going to be a hike in the duty paid on the bike w.e.f 1/4/10 and that this hike will increase the OTR of the bike by about 6000/-. He advised to book the bike with more than 50% of the amount so that one LE variant shall be with-held in my name, this will also help me as if I pay the booking amount before 1/4/10 and get the loan sanctioned, I'll have to pay by the current rates. However, he gave me a computer printed brochure with the prices of all bikes on sale by yamaha, and it's clearly written on the bottom that "Prices prevailing at the time of delivery will apply." Can anybody shed any light on this? I'm confused as-to:
1. Is there really going to be a hike in the duty rates?
2. if I pay 50% of the amount and book the bike, will I get the LE even after officially it's sales would've been closed?
3. What about the conflict between the statements by the sales-guy and the price list given?
Also, I'll want to have an estimate as-to how much per Km this bike is gonna cost me. I know about the F.E. figures and how they vary as per the riding style....I'm a very sedate rider(maybe that's coz right now I have a weak-ass ride
) so I think that I'll manage about 40-45 km/l. What I want to know is the expected life and cost of the consumables like disc pads, engine oil, tyres etc . Can anyone help me??
