    Thanks mate!
I had a look at the front rim to see if the sensor has been fiddled with or something, but it is encased properly, & I guess only the mechs can open it. The speedo is currently stuck a 0 most of the time , irrespective of the speeds the bike is doing. Sometimes it comes back to life for a short timeframe, recording correct speeds & distance, & then goes into deep slumber again!
Hopefully the issue will be resolved by this weekend

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

    • A complete dude , two buttons open of his white shirt , after observing my r15 from a distance ; crossed the road and came over to me to ask- " Naya Pulsar??? " . I didn't have an answer to that one , just kept staring at him.

An appropriate answer can be like this:

"Yeah, It is a new version of Pulsar, namely, Gulsar costing 90K grand and suitably modified by me with imported fairing".

One should try to enjoy even such Idiots.

      • Need Some more Info On R15: I'm planning to get an R15 sometime soon..

        HI All,

        1) How much will be price increase for R15 after April 1? Does it gonna make a big difference in Pricing

        2) Again this is a Question that many people has asked already but i haven't found a perfect answer for this one. Who is the best Yamaha dealer in Bangalore?

        3) Is there any updates gonna happen any time soon, as it has been around for sometime now without any change in the Spec or features (Yamaha have been doing only Sticker Jobs on the R15)?

        4) Is there any Other Bike from any other manufacturer coming down (like.. Honda CBR 150???) as a rival for R15 , any time soon?

        J)

        6) Any more colour options coming for R15? Read in the above posts that they are Phasing out the Blue colour..

        7) What will the average maintance cost of R15? is it hard to maintain it?

        8) Any Known Issues for the Bike?

        9) My driving style is a bit too hard.. I like to rev the engine and get the power out of the engine always(I always like to enjoy while i drive ).. Does that create a problem in R15.

        10) ALso any IDea what will be the Booking period?

Looking forth for the answers from the experts around

No updates will be bike as for now, other than the limited edition things the YAMAHA comes out with, you can expect a LED lamp in the next upgrade, that's it.

            4) Is there any Other Bike from any other manufacturer coming down (like.. Honda CBR 150???) as a rival for R15 , any time soon?

Honda's new 150cc is on the cards for which the MRF has developed a new TYRE 110 spec which is being tested (OVERDRIVE MAG SCOOP)

            5) I mostly take 40 KM ride through Bangalore City (Home to Office). I hope it’s won’t create any problem for me? I usually got from Silk board through the Kumble circle to hebbal (Nagawara)(Hope by reading the route that I take u you guys can imagine the traffic I’m copping with J)

No worries as it's a liquid cooled engine, it will anytime run more cooler than the air cooled bikes in the traffic you've mentioned.

            7) What will the average maintance cost of R15? is it hard to maintain it?

            What maintainence?????
Apart from the regular oil changes and the eye at the coolant, nothing.
            It's YAMAHA.
            That says it all.

            9) My driving style is a bit too hard.. I like to rev the engine and get the power out of the engine always(I always like to enjoy while i drive ).. Does that create a problem in R15.

The bike is made for red line worshippers.
rev the nuts off it all day long, and it'll oblige happily.

            • @jd: My bike has a Tata green MF battery. Don't know if it comes with Yuasa or Minda. Looks like the battery could be region specific. And also, the price for the battery varied by almost Rs500 from one at the showroom and outside

You should note that the road tax has been increased in the Karnataka budget (effective April 1st). So the on-road price may increase significantly, although I don't know the exact figure. If you want to save money, I'd say book right now and make sure it's registered before March 31st. I don't know what the effect of the excise (simulus time) rollback would be on two wheeler prices.

Do you mean best dealer or best service center? I think almost all of them are good dealers. I would suggest that you visit Panache (CMH Road), Perfect Riders (Lalbagh Road) and Pacer (Infantry Road), pretend to be ignorant and ask about the booking amount, guaranteed delivery times, etc. Mention the color you're interested in while you ask this question. Decide with whichever sounds comfortable to you. As a side note, I had an encounter with a Pacer salesman who told a BS story about the R15 not being available for test rides anywhere in India. YMMV.

This depends on who you ask. Typically they would say 15 days or 20 days. In some cases you could get it a lot sooner too. I'll repeat what I said above - go to different dealers and ask them directly. The booking amount is Rs.5000.

Lastly, your questions don't exactly belong in this forum. They should be in the What Bike or Help forums.

                        • Guys, the recommended engine idle rpm given i the manual is 1.3 - 1.5 k.

My bikes rpm fall to 1.2( its constant on 1.2) & the engine sounds like it would die any second.

What would happen if the idling speed would be below the recommended levels? cons?????

                          thanks..

1.2 is fine, mine has been at 1.2 ever since I got the bike (July 2008)&never stalled.
Btw are you sure the manual mentions 13-1500 RPM? I guess it was 1200+or-100 RPM?

                            • idle below the normal level would cause the engine to vibrate a lot, and will put unnecessary stress on the drive train.

See if you can adjust the idle from the screw on the right side.

                              • the perfect idle would be at 1400.i always maintain mine at 1400.
