Lolzz!!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostI knew you'll ask this
: The answer is NO, the oil filter was changed twice only-at the scheduled 1K&10K kms.
So its like you get the oil changed at your service and then carry on. No need to change anything unless it is schedueled to be done. Correct? My thoughts...

While I wait for my ‘new’ Yamaha R15 to be delivered thanks to an issue in the compression lever… Just dropped by again to clear a couple of misconceptions
1) Synthetic oil is not really a boon for hard core touring as such.. it actually vaporises
2) Changing oil filter or Engine flushing is NOT a mandate, but MOST people prefer to do a engine flushing and change in oil filter whenever they are changing the oil type
@Kartik: Yeah bolt ons
the man with a similar 165CC set up says so..
AFAIK the Fz150i came only after the R15, the Fz150 and the t135 et all were surely there before the R15.
While some of us were happy about getting nice after market mods for the R15, some of out indonesian friends were happy to get FI plants on thier setup

When the flushing is done what could be the visible difference?Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostWhile I wait for my ‘new’ Yamaha R15 to be delivered thanks to an issue in the compression lever… Just dropped by again to clear a couple of misconceptions

Secondly, while touring what should be kept? As the mineral oil tends to loose its properties at the most around 2k kms.My thoughts...

Jokes apart what I meant is that flushing frees up unwanted filth inside the engine... whether good or bad depends on how much filth it has inside!
Touring with Synthetic is the weapon of choice for a lot of people, just ensure you carry a fresh can to top up in 2000KMs or so...
Where are you planning to tour BTW?Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

I'm planning for a trip of about 5.5-6K km. But before that i need to do some small trips (approx 1k) to check my capabilities and other aspects.
Rightnow i'm taking all possible inputs to see what all is good and what all to be avoided. My thoughts...

For a 6K trip the reserve oil-can will easily last... it will max consume 150-250ml with topups at 2000 odd KMsOriginally posted by harshit.d View PostI read about the use of Engine flush being used. Any idea about that?

Engine flushing is NOT a mandate, but some people recommend it.. and some dont.
I personally do it (along with a filter change) when am changing oil type...
Just get the bike man and start riding its a lot of fun

Warranty issues - Yes ( though I didnt have any, but it was just nice of Yamaha)
Fixing a standard 35W HID wont be an issue and its a straigh out of box job too... Ping Navnish if you want one!

So with HID the electrical warranty would be void. Right? and any over load on the battery? I'm asking this coz the over load on battery can be seen with the stock headlight itself.
The sound of horn is different witht the high beam and with the low beam. So just don't want the horn or other electrical to die out as HID would require a humongous initial build up current. My thoughts...
