I checked the MRF dealers(MRF Tyres - MRF Where to Buy) in Hyderabad one by one. I am surprised every dealer has a different rate. The front wheel retails from 1500 to 2300 and rear wheel retails from 1900 to 3000. I am amused by the fancy prices.Originally posted by Juris View Post

well, twice till now i have got the spark plug checked, cleaned.. I don't think the spark plug should go kaput within 10k, also considering that there aren't any problems while riding although i have been feeling lack of power..Originally posted by Raneet View Postwhy don't you try changing the spark plug? i feel that's the main culprit. But then again, get it confirmed first.
in the beginning, i mean when my bike was about 1500kms old, it used to have the same issues like you mentioned. But it went off by itself after proper tuning. Since my bike was new, i was never bothered about faulty spark plug.
and what do you mean- "it used to have the same issues like you mentioned. But it went off by itself after proper tuning." here??
what kind of tuning do you refer to here??
I had a similar problem, if the sound is coming from the front, for sure it is the front disc brake. Just wash it thoroughly with pressurized water and see the magic..It worked for me!Originally posted by nidhinsr19 View PostGuys,
My bike R15 give some irritating sound from front wheel.. "KVIKVIKVIKVIKVI" :@. This is sound.
What would be the problem ?
I checked with the showroom guys they told some greezing problem. They checked and returned but the next day the same again. This comes very rarely in short trips. If i ride long then i hear this sound, feeling not to ride the bike.
Did anyone of you guys faced this issue ?
If it still doesn't go, ask the svc to remove the pads and check for wear and tear, if the condition of the pads is fine, ask them to scrub it off a bit with sand-paper and the problem shall be sorted..do keep us updated..
not a big issue at all..
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

Rear tyre shouldnt cost more than Rs2000Originally posted by Juris View PostWhat is the current price of R15 front and rear tyres. Where can I get them in Hyderabad apart from SVC. Pearl Yamaha Kondapur quotes Rs 2600 for rear tyre and Rs 2300 for front tyre.
While buying do I need to take care of certain stuffs(manufacturing date etc). Any help is welcome.
If the bike is new then the chain needs to be lubed more often, every 300-400km, get it lubed. Get the front sprocket cleaned/lubed as well.Originally posted by nidhinsr19 View PostGuys,

Its write-locked cant be remapped. You can get a new one by Joel though. Search for 'Joel'Originally posted by Pranit_Crystal Myth View PostDoes anybody know about Remapping the ECU,
i had somewhere heard that R15's stock ECU can be little bit Remapped,
i dont know if its true..??
anyone any Idea on this..
I guess thats what the problem is then, it happens more in early mornings.Originally posted by Raneet View Postthen you might have a faulty AFR as well. Please get it checked asap. 1 given tuning can never be same for all.
Yup, point takenOriginally posted by sunny9830687955 View Postif you bike misfires a lot get you ecu tuned and get your co level checked ( i mean not yours your bike
) air filter clean and also check whether petrol is contaminated i mean water may have got mixed with the petrol
By misfiring i mean, no response to throttle for a fraction of a second, in the middle of accelerating.Originally posted by veyron999 View Postby misfiring do you mean misfiring while riding/ idling/ while starting???
it has happened twice till now (9.3k on the odo) that while starting the bike, i pressed the starter, the bike didn't start but misfired...

i mean i heard that "phukktt" sound..(similar to the sound which bullets produce- by blipping the throttle and switching off and on the kill switch)
this happened the second time at the svc, the mech too was surprised as shit!
later on he was giving some reason like - "compression cycle poora nahi hua hoga to isliye back-fire kiya".. not pretty sure about that though..
the second issue is that, twice it so happened that just after getting the bike washed(both times) and the chain lubed, when the mech tried to start the bike, it was cranking but there was no ignition (cranked for 3-4 secs)..
then, when he tried the second time, it started with no issues??!!?? he tried switching the bike on and off 3-4 times, but it started normally!! Although i never rev the engine while starting, those guys at the svc have a habit of doing so..could this be a reason?? also noting that all other r15s they handle start without a hitch in similar conditions??
do you think the above two issues are related??
need help, worried..

tuning as in AFR, i had same misfiring problem. Bike used to misfire while starting. My ride was tuned to a very lean mixture from the company which i realised later, But then it went off by itself after proper tuning. Perhaps your bike is running lean, you should check it once.Originally posted by veyron999 View Postwell, twice till now i have got the spark plug checked, cleaned.. same problem I am facing from the last 2months and it happens only once or twice and very irregularly. never happened when the engine is cold, only when engine was warm/hot(not always, only sometimes). when tried to shut the engine off to see if the prob still persists, it wont happen.Originally posted by veyron999 View Postby misfiring do you mean misfiring while riding/ idling/ while starting???

how do i check the afr? the svc? getting a PUC check done?? did they use the FID to set the afr in your case?Originally posted by Raneet View Posttuning as in AFR, i had same misfiring problem. same here, the bike wasn't exactly cold.. only difference here that it happened while a svc mechanic was trying to start it..he tried 3-4 times again but it started normally..so he said it was nothing!! which isn't entirely true..Originally posted by Prakritij View Postsame problem I am facing from the last 2months and it happens only once or twice and very irregularly. never happened when the engine is cold, only when engine was warm/hot(not always, only sometimes). when tried to shut the engine off to see if the prob still persists, it wont happen.

depends on how thorough the job is..the cleaner lasted me around 8 times and the lube is still left for around 2-3 times more..Originally posted by power9 View PostGuys typically how many cycles Motul Chain Cleaner and Chain Lube last for R15?after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

you have no option but tuners or SVC unless you have devices to configure the ECU. Mine is carbed bike dude.Originally posted by veyron999 View Posthow do i check the afr? the svc? getting a PUC check done?? did they use the FID to set the afr in your case?

Approx. 900 Rs (~400 for Chain Clean and ~450 for Chain Lube).Originally posted by power9 View PostGuys typically how many cycles Motul Chain Cleaner and Chain Lube last for R15?
Just wanted to ask R15 owners. Did you guys try any alternative of Motul Chain Clean and Lube. Heard very good reviews of OKS Lube (heard its much better than Motul Lube as it stays longer and at hotter temp and costs more or less the same). Also any first hand review of TVS Chain lube(~300 Rs) would be useful.

It costs around Rs.300&is better than both OKS&Motul.
I bought it at Bangalore, but saw it the other day in Secunderabad too.

check out the above links, these ecu's can be custom mapped, and i think you can store multiple settings. like in the big bikes.

nope, i scratched up the lower panels and the inner fairings. friend of mine who works at the svc (perfect riders) offered to sell me a factory box that contain all the 7 fairing pieces at cost price (to make the bike look brand new) ,which worked out cheaper than buying only the scratched parts at retail price. Therefore i ended up with extra side panels, which the mechanic thought were slightly scratched, but turns out it was just dirt and it dissapeared after i washed them at home.Originally posted by Prakritij View Postjust curious, are you going to change the colour of your Bike?
