While buying do I need to take care of certain stuffs(manufacturing date etc). Any help is welcome.

why don't you try changing the spark plug? i feel that's the main culprit. But then again, get it confirmed first. in the beginning, i mean when my bike was about 1500kms old, it used to have the same issues like you mentioned. But it went off by itself after proper tuning. Since my bike was new, i was never bothered about faulty spark plug.

Does anybody know about Remapping the ECU,
i had somewhere heard that R15's stock ECU can be little bit Remapped,
i dont know if its true..??

then you might have a faulty AFR as well. Please get it checked asap. 1 given tuning can never be same for all.

if you bike misfires a lot get you ecu tuned and get your co level checked ( i mean not yours your bike ) air filter clean and also check whether petrol is contaminated i mean water may have got mixed with the petrol

by misfiring do you mean misfiring while riding/ idling/ while starting???

it has happened twice till now (9.3k on the odo) that while starting the bike, i pressed the starter, the bike didn't start but misfired...
i mean i heard that "phukktt" sound..(similar to the sound which bullets produce- by blipping the throttle and switching off and on the kill switch)
this happened the second time at the svc, the mech too was surprised as shit!
later on he was giving some reason like - "compression cycle poora nahi hua hoga to isliye back-fire kiya".. not pretty sure about that though..

the second issue is that, twice it so happened that just after getting the bike washed(both times) and the chain lubed, when the mech tried to start the bike, it was cranking but there was no ignition (cranked for 3-4 secs).. then, when he tried the second time, it started with no issues??!!?? he tried switching the bike on and off 3-4 times, but it started normally!! Although i never rev the engine while starting, those guys at the svc have a habit of doing so..could this be a reason?? also noting that all other r15s they handle start without a hitch in similar conditions??

do you think the above two issues are related??

well, twice till now i have got the spark plug checked, cleaned.. I don't think the spark plug should go kaput within 10k, also considering that there aren't any problems while riding although i have been feeling lack of power..

tuning as in AFR, i had same misfiring problem. Bike used to misfire while starting. My ride was tuned to a very lean mixture from the company which i realised later, But then it went off by itself after proper tuning. Perhaps your bike is running lean, you should check it once.

same problem I am facing from the last 2months and it happens only once or twice and very irregularly. never happened when the engine is cold, only when engine was warm/hot(not always, only sometimes). when tried to shut the engine off to see if the prob still persists, it wont happen.
I didn't knew how to explain to the svc people so didn't went there.
any ideas??

same here, the bike wasn't exactly cold.. only difference here that it happened while a svc mechanic was trying to start it..he tried 3-4 times again but it started normally..so he said it was nothing!! which isn't entirely true..

how do i check the afr? the svc? getting a PUC check done?? did they use the FID to set the afr in your case?

Just wanted to ask R15 owners. Did you guys try any alternative of Motul Chain Clean and Lube. Heard very good reviews of OKS Lube (heard its much better than Motul Lube as it stays longer and at hotter temp and costs more or less the same). Also any first hand review of TVS Chain lube(~300 Rs) would be useful.
