    • @all: The center stand that you guys are talking about is an equipment meant for aiding servicing of R15. It's for the SS guys, they can order it from Yamaha. It's just a temporary one,not a permanent(maybe it can be fitted permanently, but that'd shorten ground clearance and may touch speed breakers, etc). It can be attached and detached easily by the SS guys by pushing a bolt through the hole.[/QUOTE]

@digi & hydbiker- I am aware of this temporary stand and mistook the new stand which has come in to be of the temporary type. However, the PRO Service head was quick to correct me that Yam has launched the new one specifically for R15 customers and hence has been designed accordingly to ensure that the ground clearance of the bike is not reduced further. I am planning to visit the SS this weekend. So will crosscheck this information and get back to you guys.

That sounds good...I'll also find out over here at Hyderabad. But these things come first in Mumbai/Pune. Someone from Mumbai was saying that Yamaha has also launched a tyre hugger for the R15. Could you please check out that too? Thats something I really wish for!

No man. I searched a lot and managed to download the ones for R1 & R6. Manuals available for many other bikes sold in the US but was not interested. Could not get even the owner's manual of R125, Vixion, FZ15 SuperSport!!! all three - close cousins of the R15.

Stay away from Bangalore Wheels. The mechanics don't know a thing except to change parts if they encounter any problem. About Perfect Riders, I don't have any info as they have just opened last month. So, they might be better for the time being as they would be more enthusiastic to lure new customers. You could look at Pacer Yamaha as they run a motorsport team too. Their mechanics are well versed in servicing the R15. That is what I've heard from people around here. Whatever it is, please stay away from Bangalore wheels.

2 weeks before i met 3 R15 owners at panache who were not happy with their servicing, by the way even Panache is not great a place to get the bike serviced. They serviced my bike in 30 minutes can any one beat that here!!! its a record!
                  Thanks for the feedback Reuterain

Archi will second me on this I think!Somebody else has already advised you against Orion. Now, I had been to Perfect Riders to buy some accessories when I was in Bengaluru a few weeks back. I had a look at their servicing facilities&tried to gauge their customer attitude. It seemed pretty good. I will also be preferring the same place in case I move to Bengaluru.

                  Thanks R15Rocks

                  All,
I am seriously re-consdering my decision to go for a R15..cant imagine my bike gettin fckd up after i shell out a bomb for the same.

Read his Signature: 148 kmph-been there, done that! Go through his previous posts to know how he did it. There's a video on YouTube too.

@VinFreak: Don't be too skeptic-the bike itself is great. Yamaha is trying to improve their A.S.S.& spares support. It will take some time-the SS guys will improve over a period of time. New bikes cannot show serious problems before that I guess!

This was one big factor which made me reconsider and finally abort my decision of buying the awesome R15 even after being a huge Yammie fan. IMHO, it would be prudent for people to stay away from Yamaha till the servicing scene improves. BTW, if Yamaha introduce the company owned dealerships in Bangalore like they have in Pune and Mumbai, the R15 owners may have some respite. Sadly, the R15 is a very good motorcycle let down by poor service back-up. Have any of the R15 owners here tried writing to the company about this serious issue?
I did not limit myself only to writing. I contacted all the AO offices to bring forward the actual picture. I even met few representatives but their promises never came into effect.

After this i almost turned a deaf ear, as now, i own the bike and cannot crib over things, fortunately things are not going that bad but its not that great too. Once the servicing and spares part issue is resolved then i dont think pple will have any complaints as we already have a wonderful product in hand.

Thanks Dasco. Unfortunately I haven't yet hit the track but am working on it and hopefully will be posting my first trackday experience very soon About the speed man, as i said previously, I honestly don't know because when I am doing my practice runs at Lavasa, my aim is to improve my line and posture. Once you get these 2 right, the speed will also improve drastically and then again I will truly focus on improving my corner speed only on a track not on a public road.
