Are u using a single bulb HID dedicated to hi-beam alone or bi-xenon where the bulb moves forward and back as u change it to hi and lo beams?

I present to you here a Modded R15. I was almost in tears when I saw this baby... They're even planning a colour change after it visits the RTA for the registration number...

Now, can someone list out the mods carried out on this bike... please...

          Let me try
          1) Alloys & Tires changed. Rear - 150/80 x 15, Front - 120/?? x ??
          2) Dual Free Flow Exhausts. It was loud with two sounds
          3) Dual HID kit
          4) LED Strips everywhere...
          5) Tail Lamp Assembly
          6) Security System
          7) Rear Mud Guard Cut to show the arse
          8) Rear Suspension changed to some imported piece to increase height
          9) Huge modification to the swing arm to fit the tire & the suspension. A tire hugger is planned for and are awaiting stock
          10) Front indicators
          11) Handlebar weights removed to push in the hand grips
          12) Yamaha Logos Snatched and bike scratched
          13) Rear Disk Calipers scratching the alloy Drum
          14) Big Horns... see the red colour on the RHS beside the engine...

All I could do was pity the owner! He handed it over to these guys and they screwed it up heavily! The engine malfunction light was blinking and they're not bothered about it even when I cautioned them twice...

I just hope the owner likes all these mods!
Those LEDs on the front are THE LIMIT. Sports bike hain, ya baaraat ka ghoda?
          And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

using a single beam hid. In the city i use the low beam ( left one ) on highways use the right one... bi-xenon are expensive man..

Yeah I know. But since u got it from outside India, I thot it wud have been cheaper. For hi - beam u use both the halogen and the HID or have u re-routed connection such that hi-beam - only HID glows and for lo-beam only halogen bulb glows.

I have another thought, why not use two HIDs? One for low beam and another for hi-beam. Position them that way(cos AFAIK the lo-beam and hi-beam in HIDs is done only by moving the bulb back and forth). Route the connection such that in lo-beam only left side glows and in hi-beam only right side does?

Hey try installing 60/55 W on low beam. would it effect battery with ur HID's.. The low beam sucks big time

This guy paid money to people to mess his bike up!! Jeez!!
That looks like a Unicorn monoshock to me....

Now after reading all these problems, I am feeling twitchy..... When's my share of issues coming?

And I am already losing hope on both service centres in Kolkata, where the bike will actually be 'serviced' and not just washed, sparkled and 'tuned for mileage'...... But surprisingly, I have not noticed any harshness or roughness. I have done 570kms and not yet serviced (1st service is at 1000kms or 18th Jan, whichever comes earlier).

Have never redlined. But have hit 130kmph with a pillion just once, when the bike was 350kms old.... And bike was not yet at redline! Note, both rider and pillion were featherweights!

                            Seriously considering HIDs....

Mate, what part of the manual was not clear to you .. do not drive @ > 5k rpm before 500 km's. I am sure even with feather weight riders you would have been much higher than the advised rpm range.

Even though one rip shouldn't cause much damage, but you never know. Since, now since you have not followed the prescribed suggestions, keep your fingers crossed and go take it for a service since u have done 570 now.

i used this current setup caz is simple man.. why so much complication.. 1 hid is more than enough ... its too too bright. 2 will be simply trouble.

i dint know that the lo-beam and hi-beam in HIDs is done only by moving the bulb back and forth man.. i saw some expensive hids and the high was regular halogen and the low was hid .

                              • I have mentioned it before .. @all 1 5 owners: at the bare minimum go for 2X 60/55 + LED pilots. It's just safe enough. Absolutely no battery issues.

PS: Barkha back to her antics. .. hehe .. just kidding.
