    • Guys i don't understand why all these problems are popping up with our R15'S only, never heard yamaha had these kind of quality, wear and tear issues this much......seriously makes me doubt about the quality of parts in our bikes. Man my HH Karizma never gave me problems , treated me well always as i treated her,but with yamaha R15 i treat her like my latest GF but she has her own tantrums....rust and other issues......please Yamaha give us better parts along with engine or else recall and replace faulty parts for free.

      • off late i have noticed that ignition key is throwing some problem. i had mentioned earlier that my ignition key when turned on does not respond on first attempt. this problem seems to vanish now but the area where the key is inserted seems to be too loose, the keys dwindle left right a little. Any one with this kind of problem?

sorry for late reply !!! yes you are right i was the one who got the second R15 with same registration number as of the first one . my problems are mentioned on the post above.

Apart from this, after second servicing the bikes gear has become very hard it clicks hard while shifting from 1st to second and from 2nd to 3rd and there after its smooth, my first servicing was lot better than my second one at least i could feel the smoothness after the first 1000 Kms. And as all said chick chick sound from the disk brakes and chain (i have stopped paying attention to these two issues )

Guys one more thing those who really praise Panache's Teflon coating job, i will suggest you to give a second opinion after looking at your bikes once again. I got it done during my 2nd servicing long back, there was not much of a difference. Secondly, there are some white deposits on the matt finish parts of the bike near instrument pannel and side pannel.

dude ! that's what happened with my first R15 on the day of delivery, its not with the petrol, there can be some loose connections or disconnected wire. get it checked. these bulb glows even if there is a petty issue with wiring or with the engine. Good anyways it makes the rider aware.

me too. But wen i ride more than 10 kms its starts or frm the begining on rainy days. My mechanic(not frm YS) told me tat its coz of the copper particles added in the brake pad. He disassembled the back disc, cleaned and showed me the brake pads, and those imported pads will have copper pieces for grip, so no need to worry (correct me if am wrong)

Panache's is the worst service station .The teflon coating they do is nothing but a polish which i have personally seen it.

Guys i would suggest if you give your bike for service and you are not satisfied do not pay for it. I have done the same for the first service . They handed over a big bill of 720 rs ( 1st service Sep 4th) to me .The bill included some top ups chain treatment oil change. I had given the bike at 10am and these buggers told me to come at 6 and collect it. At 6pm when i went to collect it my bike was outside the service station full stained with white stains on the panels the chain was dirty the bike looked some 1year old. I asked them why it was so dirty the guy told me that the bike was ready in the morning and dust is settled on it. I asked him if the oil filter is changed . He said no there is no stock of spares. And i was pretty pissed of due to this.I told them that i wont pay for this and if they need me to settle this bill i need to speak to someone who has some basic knowledge of servicing ..The service guy started arguing with me that he knows everything he as serviced hazzar ( thousands ) bikes this that. I wasted more than an hour listening to his bull shit. example : the service guy said no need of removing the oil for changing the oil filter . i was shocked to listen this.. i dint want to waste more time so i told him to come to my house and collect the money . i took pics front of these guys but they were least bothered.I left the service station at 7 told them to collect the money from my house. And i went home. No call from panche till date.

I am really disappointed with yamaha on the service front as they should give some basic training on how to service a bike. It will be fun to see these guys open a R15 engine. I am sure they will screw it bad.

Sorry to hear that, dude. But Iam not surprised.Yamaha seriously needs to look into their after sales services. I would recommend not leaving your bike there with these guys. Having read the manual, you can best be the judge about whats good and whats not for your bike.

                        • @thy : i think you can ask the service guy to change the alloy under warranty...most of the times you would need to force them into doing so..

As said earliar, R15 Alloys are not upto its standards.

I once rammed on a speed breaker at 60kmph and thankfully nothing happened to the alloys , seems i'm lucky

Very right... I wasn't happy with the finish of the alloys on the FZ16 when I first went to see the FZ16 either.

Thy: Put your foot down and make it very clear to them that you won't settle for a touch-up job on a 1 lakh rupee motorcycle and that too on a bike from a company as reputed as Yamaha. Please do keep us updated on this. Best of luck!
