Negatives:- The horn of a cd deluxe is louder
then our r1-5 and it gets even quieter on high beam, which in itself are not that useful on the highway.
Tune the horn with the adjusting screw and it will become loud enough.

Bike was idle for 17 days .. came home .. and started as normal .. no battery issues for this period of storage. Now to make the most of the fuel price cut .. time for the 1 5 to flex it's crankshaft.

can you elaborate on that!!

n ..can that be done by urself or need to go to the service station..!!
coz ...the service station guyz didn't tell me about such thing when i told them that horn is not loud enough ..
infact ..they said ..its the problem reported by many...!!
n further more ...if i change the horn ..the battery warranty would be void ..

there's a screw on the horn, turn that a bit n you will notice that the sound changes accordingly

Santa's 10k report
1.Mileage rocks
2.NVH increased, its like a zma now.(hope it doesn become like a pulsar after another 10k :-P)
3.No Spares needed.
4.Disc pads as good as new
5. Changed spark plug and oil filter.
6. Headlight:-P
(My old saying---Ur headlight is my bed light)
MY HID Rocks
7.No chain sound at all. I lube it every 500kms.
8.Off roading. touring, track riding beach riding all done. Bike takes all with smile.
9. tires are great . will last another 6-8k with ease.
tires suck big time with even lil amount of sand or gravel.
10. handling takes a toss big time with saddle bags or luggage tied behind.
U know what -- I still prefer the zma to tour anyday/anywhere than the R15.
R15 Top speed-WIth a full tank of fuel also sitting upright it does 132/133.
Crouch and a speedo 140 is comfy.
The 220 is way faster on the straight line than the stock r15.n it does it with a lot of ease.
Things to note for new owners.
1. Make sure u are careful if installing a security system. wrong connections or short somewhere and ur ECU ll go for a toss.I saw one happen in front of me .
2.If fixing an extra horn near the radiator, dont tighten it too much , ur radiator is mounted on the same point. Few ppl radiator has started leaking after they over tighten the bolt.
3.The alloys are light weight ones , so when on bad roads , watch out.
They are not meant to take a pothole at 100 Plus.Later dont say they cracked.
4.Dont keep resting ur leg on the rear brake pedal , u ll have ur disc pads eaten up in like under 5k .
Disc pads cost a lot.
5. Maintain ur chain-Chain sproket kit costs 5500 rs oly..
So u better clean and maintain it BOYZ.
More next time....

Alloys bent
Hi guyz,
Yesterday i had a minor mishap. I was doing a ton on my R15 with my gal riding pillion at 10 pm. I hit a god-forsaken pothole (not a very deep one though). It made a very disturbing noise ( i call it the wailing banshee). Both my tires went kaput. Went 2 a mechanic and on inspection found that both the rims went bent. As a stop gap arrangement so that i can drive my bike back and drop my gal back, he converted the tubeless to tube tires. Its running ok, though i guess the alignment needs to be corrected.
I am taking the bike to the showroom today. Here are a few questions that i need some help with.
1) Shall i get the rims rectified or should i get the alloys changed?
2) If so how much will it cost ?
3) Will it be covered under warranty or insurance ?

May be bullet cover is the best. I got a Karizma cover from Castrol Bike Zone for Rs 300. A good quality one and fits almost fully.Originally posted by testing2000 View Postwhich cover is best?

Also, I hope you are not thinking of the 15W50 oil... Motul has a new 10W40 oil in 300V FL and that's the one that's suit the R15.
Take a star screw drver, push ur hand down through the gap beside forks from the top and tune the horn by turning the screw on teh horn... be careful, your turns should be very minor. A full set of instructions were given in this thread a few months back... happy referringheyy buddy ...didn't really understand by "tune the horn .."

Indeed. ZMA is better for touring.U know what -- I still prefer the zma to tour anyday/anywhere than the R15.
If the alloys have a small bend and if there's no crack, they try the rectification. But to my knowledge they'd have cracked somewhere or would crack when trying to fix the bent part. Else, get them set right to an extent and use with tube.Originally posted by xplosid View Post1) Shall i get the rims rectified or should i get the alloys changed?

New alloys cost - Front = Rs ~2300; Rear = Rs ~3000.
No warranty coverage but insurance would be covered.

[quote=silversands;159867]For me the service stations guys did it, the horn is located on the right hand side of the front fork. Its done by inserting the hand from the top, tuning the screw provided on the horn, as you move it the sound gets louder, select the optimum setting and its done.Originally posted by biker boy View Post

I remember a guy here who got his rims replaced under warranty (even his bike got banged by a pot hole). Check the warranty again and inquire in various SS.Originally posted by xplosid View PostHi guyz,
