I doubt it's a fork bend. Try keeping that "t" bar (it's called as Yoke I guess) straight and see which side the wheel seems to be on. Get the fork allignment checked..I recently had a fall and my bike's fork too suffered mis-allignment.Originally posted by svjhonda View PostGuys, I had a crash. And painfully, my bike is scarred.
I was so mad at myself, that I did'nt touch my bike for an entire day. Neither did I come out of my room. I was taking a right turn at a T intersection, when a car came from my left. And I panic braked while the bike was slightly bent to the right. The front washed out. Even in that situation I tried to save my bike, but could not take my right leg off the footpeg in time.
Now mt RHS matt-finish panel has scratches, surprisingly the indicator was totally bent upwards parallel to the panel itself, but did'nt break. Now its got scratches on the underside. Mainly the front cowl that holds the headlights is cracked in two places (again on the underside) and the RHS mirror stalk is snapped. I got injuries to my knee. I tore through my jeans while trying to save my bike. Also my palm is injured. Nothing much. Just some skin.
Only real 'damage' is the handlebars appear and feel bent. The T-plate or whatever its called that has the clip-ons bolted on it looks turned to the RHS when the wheel's straight. Can it be straightened by removing the bolt in the middle? Or should I take it to the SVC?
Dude, I too have been facing vibes on my bike since many days..since months as a matter of fact! It vibes so much that you can actually feel the vibes on the handle and see the RVMs also vibe when the bike's idling. Do let me know if you happen to find any solutionOriginally posted by surbhit View Post@vibhanshu: your bike had excess vibrations in the handlebar while idling. Did you find a solution to the problem? I too am facing vibrations in the handlebar during idling.

Facing the same problem too..I got my chain cleaned and lubed properly with Motul, and the chain was still making noise. Let me know if you find any solutionOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostI have already got it fixed, but the sound still persists. No eating into performance, but smoothness has gone down a bit no doubt.
What I'm guessing is damaged O-rings due to the application of grease at front sprokets by our SS guys. O-ring chains should strictly be kept away from Grease and petroleum products like engine oil, etc. But our SS guys don't do it for R15..I don't even understand what the need for grease at front sprocket is.(If you look at brand new R15s, they won't have any grease on the chain..but our bikes do. This is because the grease applied by SS guys on the front sprocket gets stuck on the entire chain thus changing the chain's color to black. But the brand new R15 chains look absolutely silverish white.)
I might be there this saturday too..depends on if i'm giving my car for denting or not!Originally posted by vibhanshu View PostI am trying to take a leave on this Saturday. In case I am able to, then we can visit Pearl. I need to buy a spare clutch and acc. cable. And we would get your chain thing fixed too. I would let you know tomorrow if I manage a leave.
Have got a few works to be done on my bike.
Yes.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThanks Praful! Is it the same kit for cars as well as bikes?
BullShit. Nothing as such.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostCool! I thought of going to them too, but was waiting since Pearl was saying they have some kit especially for bikes!
If it fits in under the seat, I'll leave it in that box in the bike itself!
Which fairing do you mean? Tell us exactly.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostYes, They wud easily fit underthe seat, It consist's of a Hook, Few rubber strings I guess...that it.
You can find them in any good tire shops.
BTW...Any idea exact cost of the front fairing of R15
And Guys, you can ask me anything about the prices of parts for R15..I can't tell you how, but I can tell you the prices of anything, be it cosmetics or engine parts!
The strips are almost the same..but the metal tools that come in the kit vary in size from kit to kitOriginally posted by HydBiker View Post^^^ then maybe the kits come in different sizes.
The kit as such was difficult to fit. After I added a small cutting plyer to the kit bag there was no way it would fit ans since then I was carrying it in bags!
Sunny.

BTW...For R15 owners...Do you guys feel loss of power when using any kind of petrol???
While on Speed 97...I found that engine becomes lot smoother, but its top end is lost and feels like bike is dying to cross 130kmph...
Even satish has observed this on my bike...But on normal petrol its as usuall good at topend..but engine becomes bit rough (especailly when engine is not much hot).Last edited by riazmomin; 03-19-2009, 10:28 PM.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

its been long since i got my bikes chain lubed as it was out of stock at the service station. the chain was making some noise and the clutch was also tight and there was some noise from the headlight visor. called the ss number of times but no sign of chain lube . today they said that the lube is available and went to get the chain lubed .went there and saw that i had missed my third free service datevise but the distance covered was less .but they said that ur third service will not be done .so got my bikes fourth free service.
changed the engine oil from mineral to semi synthetic yamahalube. chain lubed and air filter cleaned. the bike got smoother after the service the clutch was lighter but the noise from the visor persisted.
here's the fun part .the service centre had a MT01 standing .it was bought by the owner of the agency and will be used as a display piece when it will not be used by the owner.the bike is humoungous and heavy.it is beautiful and drooool .sat on it and felt the handles. one thing i realised i will never go for this bike however i may like it .
first it is out of my reach moneywise.
i will have to add 10 kg to my weight and that to all muscle ten kg.
\
this bike is so in your face and brazen .well what can i say it was just stand and admire .

I think the reason is overtightening the chain. It leads to excessive friction&hence the chik-chik noise. My bike's chain was pretty loose before the 4th Service&it never made any noise then.Originally posted by digislayer View PostFacing the same problem too..I got my chain cleaned and lubed properly with Motul, and the chain was still making noise. The solution would be to loosen it, then again tighten it just a bit, followed by clean&lube. Not able to find the time to go there though!
Anyways new bikes chains are silverish white in color because they use Yamalube powdery dry type spray, which is really expensive. Someone who bought it has posted about this here too.
Take an allen key&tighten the bolts on the RVM. There are 3 totally, one is on the under side.Originally posted by Srijan View PostGuys, My RVMs vibrate slightly when the bike is idle. And, I have noticed that they become somewhat hazy at higher speeds. Is it something unusual? If yes, please tell me how to fix it...Is the haziness caused, is due to vibes?Quench my thirst with gasoline!

The front cowl costs less than Rs 300.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostThe plastic skeleton that holds the twin headlights....It costs around 600/-..But I want to know the exact cost...

Well, for the first time I had to use Power petrol on my bike as I ran out of fuel searching for a fuel station (kick me for arrogantly not filling pertol at a COCO pump as there was abt a 10 bike queue) on my way to Mumbai. I had no options. But a few KMs after filling (the tank hardly had 1/2 liter petrol by then) the bike became smoother.
Bike seems to run a lot smoother on a long drive after the initial few hundreds of KMs but this time it was noticeably smoother. I have used Speed at similar situations earlier but didn't notice any difference then.

The most outrageous part price is the footpeg slider-for Rs.270Originally posted by HydBiker View Postit is good business logic. most cosmetic part prices have gone up!
, while the whole footpeg itself costs only Rs.65!
Whats worse is: You won't get a new slider with the footpeg-you need to buy it separately!
