15 Days for a screw, NO! YAMAHA
Ok I contacted 2 useless Stealerships for the idle screw, one told me to phone the other and the other said it would take 15 days, this is an absolute joke, just because I lose 1 small screw I can't use the bike for atleast 15 days, NO! Yamaha you seriously suck! even worse not one dealership here in Goa possesses a set of torque wrenches or even an FID unit, have issued a complaint to Yamaha, I am sure their response will be as pathetic as the stealerships!Originally posted by stefanm View PostAfter playing around with the idle speed, after installing some kit from Joel, the idle screw fell out a few days back, didn't realise as I was in a rush and had to drive to Bombay the next morning. Anyway I came back this evening and wanted to check the idle adjustment as the bike would idle at 2k rpm when cold and 3 k rpm when warm, the first look revealed the idle screw was missing, so no point going any further.
Now if I ride the bike to the SVC around 13km's or 20 mins, would it do any harm? air is obviously leaking from where the screw once was, so I guess I am getting a very rich mixture, which isn't a good thing, I couldn't find the idle screw in the spare parts list, is it something they should have in stock?
Hopefully Bajaj will make better bikes soon and the new KTM looks tasty, pretty sure spare parts won't be an issue with these bikes.
Minimum should be 5000kms as per the instructions and more often in high performance street use or off road use (ie India) so I guess 2.5k to 3k would be good. As for the cleaning kit, no Idea, if you find out let us know I also need a cleaning kit.Originally posted by Juris View PostI am using Simota air filter(replcament for stock air filter) for my R15.
How frequently I need to clean the Simota air filter and what is the procedure of cleaning it. Where can I get the cleaning oil.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Need your suggestion guys !!!
Hi Guys,
I own Aug 2008 R15. Recently my bike started discharging the battery fully while riding and the warning lamp comes on. Had the same issue during dev 2010 and got replaced the battery, stator coil first followed by ignition key set which was the cause for that issue.
Now in 7 months again I got the issue. This time again the stator coil has been replaced. But still the issue persists. I gave to two Yammie SC, but they could not find out. Finally the second SC replaced the rectifier and now the battery is not getting discharged. But the problem is that the rectifier is getting extremely hot even if I ride 4 to 5 KMS. Is that normal ?
I fear if something is wrong in the wiring which makes it entremely hot.

Clutch cable broken
Hello friends. I broke my R15's clutch cable on saturday evening. I live about 7 kms from the service station. I want to know that how do i take my my bike there?? Can i tow my bike behind friend's bike? If yes, then how?? Also please tell me the probable reason of the breakage of the cable?
If anyone can share any other idea, it would be of great help.

I feel you can push start ur bike in 2nd gear and try to run in the same gear till you reach the showroom. As I had done this earlier on my Pulsar 150, but still I am not sure this is possible on R15. Anyway just try once and if you can be successful.Originally posted by anas17in View PostHello friends. The cable might have broke because of hard usage of the clutch while shifting. Make sure you shift the gears smoothly.2009 - Pulsar UG4- 28,000 Kms

so, not more than that should be good..
Thanks both of you..Originally posted by tibby View PostYou are welcome.
My bike had an odo reading of 2Kms when I took delivery, and so did most of ours'.
Single-digit odo reading is ideal, as manufacturers test the bike for a Km or two (on dyno, or road) before dispatching for delivery. Anything more points to mischief by showroom folks.
Lets see at the time of delivery..

Don't you think you should be asking the ask the guy you bought it from?Originally posted by Juris View PostI am using Simota air filter(replcament for stock air filter) for my R15.

This thread can be effectively used for answering stock-parts related queries.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Hi friends,
My bike has completed 12000 kms and i am on 3rd set of front disk pads, but still i am not able to get the bite which i had on the first set of brake pads. I had done a diesel wash all over the bike before replacing the brake pads and from that moment onwards i am somehow feeling a skeptical about the front brakes.
Is there anything else to check and restore the old braking ?
Secondly is there any way to determine whether the accelarator cable needs a change as till now its running smooth but svc center guy says i will have to replace it in 6th service.
