Nopes. Since I noticed rust still in its initial stages of formation and it was on the outer side of the link I scrapped it with sandpaper and then cleaned (and lubed) it. This incident occurred 2 weeks ago and now I'm closely monitoring the chain for signs of rust.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostOops i never knew about rusting issues with rolon man, thanks a lot for the information.

Can't say if yours is Rolon/DID. Check the links of the chain to know the manufacturer. Its written on the links.
No, it won't be a direct fit. V2's swingarm is 55mm longer than V1 and hence the length of the chain is also longer.
mine is over at 15K kms i took like normal care of it when bike was new i sometimes myself also cleaned and lubed it with motul cleaner and lube and at every service cleaning and lubing done by service centre still its over at 15K. it can be Rolon then. but i will check it. i can buy DID but then my mind says for the money i pay for DID i can have Two rolons and still rs 200 will be saved + new chain set will start from starting point setting and even if its DID it will get loose with time like when DID is on half setting rolon will be over then i can put new rolon with level 1 setting or can have DID half used. just a thought don't know what i am going to do.
just checked mine is rolon.Last edited by RhythmRana99; 10-24-2012, 01:40 AM.We xbhpians pledge to wear helmet while riding

Sorry for posting here, but am facing a BIG problem with my R15 v2 and response on that thread is slow. So here it is.
Bought R15 (WHITE LE) on 16th Sept 2012. Never brought rpm above 4.5k till first 500kms. Did oil / oil filter change. Starting driving @6-6.5k rpm, with occasional burst to 7k.
Noticed i would cross 100-101km/hr in 6th gear @7k. Never crossed 102km/hr mark. On 901km went in for 1st service. It was last week. Could not drive because of office. Today i started driving and realized that i would cross 100km/hr @ 7k mark ( as usual ) but after that even if i pull the full throttle bike would go till 8.5 rpm only and with speed up to 110km/hr. My 6 year old CBZ-X does better then this.
Any ideas what is wrong guys ?
if it helps i can tell you what speed i get at wt gear and at what rpm.
1 gear @4k rpm - 20km/hr.
2 gear @4k rmp - 34km/hr
3 gear @4k rmp - don`t remem
4 gear @4k rmp - don`t remem
5 gear @5k rmp - 64km/hr
6 gear @5k rmp - 74km/hr
6 gear @7k rpm - 100km/hr
6 gear @8-8.3k rpm - 110 km/hr
Can you guys tell me @ what rpm you guys cross 100km/hr mark in 6 gear ?
hi,
dude both the bikes are allot different and 4k is where you start not shift it further.
you are shifting the gear at a low rpm, which is causing low power out put.
i have both the bikes ownership experiences and r15 goes to high rpms than cbz ... where as also the sweet spot for shift wud be between 6 to 8k.
6th gear 7k rpm for 100 is absolutely fine. But the thing is how quick you get there.
i have done 135 above on highways.
i have also been using a different engine oil (motul fully synthetic) which has enhanced the performances at high rpms. you can try that. Rides is way smoother after that. There are some other things also, actually the funda is, opening ur throttle does not help but you have to roll on very specifically with timings.
when you shift with a low rpm slow down ur roll on, let is set to the optimum level then go on.
usually i change from 5th gear to 6th near about 100 so cant say much but 6th gear 7k 100km/h were very common.Last edited by sarthak157070; 10-24-2012, 05:13 PM.

Yes I did change the clutch plates at 44K kms as I was going to ride to Lahaul n Spiti Valley. So just to be on the safer side. Now the service is due, so will get the Shock Absorbers oil, coolant and also few other things changed.

Hey Guys , Have just dropped off the bike for service , ODO reads 43354 kms ... Had a thorough inspection done , not much change required except for a fork overhaul which is long overdue and a front brake pad change . The rear one's were changed over the weekend too ... So hopefully the absolutely non confidence inspiring braking I've had the past couple of months will improve . Total Damage to the pocket , a pretty decent 3K ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

I'm facing a problem with my Yamaha R15.
The front fairing is vibrating during standstill position. It happens even after the engine is switched off using the kill switch. It stops only when the key is turned off.
What could be the possible reason? Anyone faced with similar problem before?

The vibration you are feeling is most probably due to the cooling fan running. I suggest that you check the radiator mounting and ensure that all fasteners are tightened to the correct torque specs.Originally posted by speed1985 View PostI'm facing a problem with my Yamaha R15.

Thank you Abhimanyu. I have one more query. What does 'correct torque specs' mean? Does SVC guy understand that terminology?Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostThe vibration you are feeling is most probably due to the cooling fan running. ^^^ they should understand... If not then, in my opinion they don't deserve to be called ASC... The required torque specs are listed in the Service Manual for each bike, which in turn are derived from SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) torque specs for fasteners.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
