How do i fix it?? Any auto electrician can diagnose and make the repair, should be straight forward. If you can use a multimeter you can have a go yourself, or just take a look, it could be something simple.Originally posted by revvhard View PostHow do i fix it?? Try the original bulb, see if that helps.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

Check out the solder and fitting of the tail lamp LEDs. The parking light LEDs is connected to the brake light LEDs. Even a small solder connecting these 2 circuits can make these two circuits as one.Originally posted by Prakritij View PostYes bro you are right. just a Day after fitting the tail lamp LEDs. what could be the reason and solution?

is there a small hole at the bottom of the exhaust ?? i noticed yesterday that i hav a minute leak frm the exhaust.
When i showed it to the mechanic he said it is there so that if water enters the exhaust it cums out of that hole.
is this right??Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

There are two brakes levers, one for front and one for rear. Both levers have indivisual switches , which, when the brakes are applied complete the circuit to the brake light filament. That said, it is not a big problem that you're facing, I too faced the same issue and in my case the wires that connect the brake switch on the rear brake were not plugged in properly and were touching, so the circuit for brake light was on even when I wasn't applying brakes. Took me about 3-4 hours of tinkering but I finally diagnosed the problem and soldered the wires into their place.Originally posted by revvhard View Postguys the tail light on my bike is staying on constantly evn when brakes are not applied.
my mechanic told me dat my rear brake pads r worn n need replacement, could that be the reason??
also is it possible to increase free play and move the rear brake lever a little lower??
As for you, I have some questions which can help in the diagnostic.
1. Has your bike, ever in it's life time, fallen to its right? Even a fall from the side stand is enough for the weight of the bike to be transferred to the handlebar and when that happens, the brake lever get's pressed too which breaks the brake switch in the handlebar.
2. If your bike hasn't fallen to the right then it's an issue with the rear brake. You can try and rectify it yourself or you can go to the svc and tell the mech to adjust the "brake spring". He will understand and set it to a level of your liking. However if you're a DIY kinda guy I can let you know about how to do it yourself. So let me know.
3. Also, there is a possibility that the LED bulb that you bought has a defect. If you'd posted here about the same before buying I'd have said that there bulbs place all the LED's in a single array. Which means one fried LED will ruin the whole bulb. Not worth the 600 bucks + shipping in my opinion. I'm not saying this because I make custom led tail lights, I'm just sharing whatever information I have so that others can benefit from it as well.
Anyways, try and switch back to the normal bulb and see if that solves the problem.
Instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble tail lgiht assembly of yzf r15 v1.Originally posted by Prakritij View PostHow do I remove it?
RIDE SAFE
1.If you look at the tail light, there are two screws holding it in place in the tail section. Unscrew them and keep them aside.
2. Now Try to pull the transparent plastic from the bike towards you. You might have to apply a little force in the downwards direction as the little square sectioned part in the tail light which has the yamaha logo on it, is there to ensure that the tail light does not come out easily.
You can apply a moderate amount of force, The transparent plastic unit may seem fragile but it's very sturdy, doesnot break easily. I've removed and reinstalled these by dozens and not one has broken on me.
3. The transparent panel holds with it a smaller, red coloured panel. If you're putting an LED bulb you can keep away the red panel as the LED bulb, by itself is red.
4. Remove the bulb inside by rotation it counter clock wise.
5. Put the led bulb and rotate clockwise.
6. Now put in the transparent plastic cover back and try to allign the holes in the cover with the sockets inside the tail light.
7. Once it is aligned, screw the transparent plastic back with the 2 screws you took out in step 1.
8. That's it, you're done. Thank me now.
She's almost 2 years old, 20k kms done.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostHow old is your bike? It seems you are due for a change of the coolant. It is recommended that the coolant be replaced every 2 years. Before replacing the coolant ensure that the cooling system is flushed and cleaned for all impurities.
I would recommend following procedure for flushing the cooling system:
1. Drain the entire coolant from the engine, including the contents of the reservoir.
2. Make solution of 50% demineralised water and 50% vinegar, mix it well (600 ml - 300 ml water + 300 ml vinegar).
3. Pour the prepared solution into the radiator.
4. Start the engine and let it ideal. Run the engine till the cooling fan kicks in and the entire contents have been given enough time to circulate through out the engine.
5. Stop the engine and remove the entire solution. (You should see rust and other impurities in the solution).
6. Now pour 600 ml of demineralised water into the radiator.
7. Once again start the engine and run till the cooling fan kicks in and the contents have circulated through out the engine.
8. Stop the engine and drain the water.
9. Now pour in the fresh coolant solution.
Your cooling problem should be solved.
The problem is my radiator fan DOES NOT KICK IN. I can understand that there may be a coolant issue, but that should only mean that the bike should get hot quicker and which in turn should mean that the fan should kick in quicker. Which it doesn't do, at all.
I don't know what to do.

I don't know what to do.
Drain out you coolant and run a hose pipe though the system, if there is any blockages they should clear, you will know if there is any blockages by the pressure of the waste water.
Once done put your coolant back and top up, start the engine and let her run for around 10 mins with the radiator cap off, this will remove any air locks (I'm not aware of any bleed screw on the bike), put the cap back on and continue to let the bike idle, without air cooling the rad the fan should kick in within 20 mins.
If still nada, then check the fan is working just run wires direct to the battery, if it spins next you should check the connector is clean and has good contact. Also change your thermostat, they are cheap enough and one of the most common parts to go wrong on a cooling system, they are tested in a pan of water, heat the water and they should open at around 80 degrees. There is also a temperature sensor which could also be faulty, i guess this maybe what switches the fan on/off
This is all simple DIY stuff.
You fan should only kick in when the coolant gets too hot, such as riding slow (city traffic), idling for long periods, under high load such as with a pillion. Mine very rarely kicks in as I mostly ride solo and don't have city traffic to contend with.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!

Okay so i'l get the rear brake spring checked from the mechanic,i dont have led bulbs on my bike that is a different member with the same problem, i bought the bike secondhand 2 days ago and i feel the position of the rear brake pedal is not right.
1 more question, the bike's fairing gets warm, not hot, only warm. Its nt very warm too when riding i dont even feel it through my jeans but if i touch it with bare hands i can feel it is warm, is this kind of mild heating up normal?? or should i get the coolant drained and replaced??Last edited by revvhard; 03-04-2012, 11:45 PM.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! . I haven't even play around with any of the electrical s yet .
Anyways , After taking to the service centre ,they told me to go for a Tata Green Battery , just needed to know what are the other available options with prices ??

Simple and effective means to check whether fan is functional, is to connect FID tool in diagnostics mode and check for operation of fan(I had doubts about fan operation. So got it checked at SVC). Also, as mentioned by Stefanm, you ll better off changing thermostat. However, change the coolant temperature sensor(~750) only when you get engine warning light with error code 32. Check for relays as well.Originally posted by stefanm View PostA couple of things you can try,
