  • Re: Yamaha YZF-R15

The vehicle is 3 years. I changed the spark plug twice at 10000 kms and in last service at 19000 kms. Also I cleaned the fuel injector in Yamaha FI cleaner machine.

I'm still running the stock front tyre, but for the back i got Dunlop Monster 100 90 17 ( wasnt satisfied with the stock tyre, it was a puncture magnet ). This one is pretty good, got good grip and didnt effect the performance much.

I guess it wasn't suggested for bikes having clip on handlebars

Yes thats the prob, i also checked out ebay and messaged the seller, even his offerings were of no use for r15.

New Ques: how to set up a charging port using the bike's battery for charging on the go ?

Hello Guys, After a long time..!!

My bike has done 13 Kms and while in a outing the clutch game broke down which made me to ride the bike back home with out clutch..!! This is happening the first time..! I see the previous post saying that they had the cable replace in 6K kms..!! Is the part of the service that SVC guys check the durability?? it has been 6 months I visited the SVC the bike was so smooth and now i feel the rear noise from the brake pads and clutch cable broke down..!!

Is it I need to change the whole clutch cable housing? or only the inner..!! With my experience I feel they would ask us to change the entire cable housing .??

Does the service manual say anything about the checking these cables periodically?

                    Thanks

To answer your first question, no, only the cable needs to be replaced.
Second, General Service guidelines state that all cables and lines need to be checked at every service and replaced if needed. But you know how it's like.
There's no fixed interval as such, depends on riding style and luck too! My Fiero's accelerator cable snapped on the 3rd day but the clutch cable has been replaced only once in 10yrs.
That aside, you should be able to feel when the cable is at its last stage and replace it a few days in advance. I have done it twice on my R15. Once it snapped and I had a passerby push it for a km. or two till office. Next time I was able to understand in advance.

Not sure if the limited space on the clipons will be able to accomodate these or not but have a look:

If you are getting any such mobile mount, you may also get a handlebar mount mobile charger.

                            Hey Guys,

Need help with the front tyre 80/90 - 17 for R15. This is not available in Hyderabad market. All the MRF dealers are suggesting to chose a different option as there is shortage and some of them are saying MRF stopped manufacturing. Will the R15 V2.0 front tyre be the next alternative. Please suggest me the correct alternative.

For the front, V2 should also fit well.
If you still need the V1 tyre, try Nakoda Tyres at Koti.
