Airfilter is good(My service guy told me). Tire pressure is rear 35 and front 28. Usually I drive between 5000-6000RPM but on highways and regular night drives i go till 8K,
    1. Do you guys weigh the same? Or do you weigh more than him?
1.1 How tall are you than him... If you sit straight on the bike and quite tall then you're literally braking via wind resistance.
    2. Did you break-in the engine properly?
    3. Loose chain check
    4. Clutch plates check
    5. Throttle play check
    6. Tappet valve clearances check (inlet and outlet have different values)
    7. Tyre pressure check (28, 35? set 29, 33 may be? .. why 35 in rear?)

After you run a check of all those, get to an open highway (please ensure this is super safe for both you and other's on the road), lock your knees in, crouch down, start shifting every gear at high rpm. May be 1st and 2nd at 7K or 8K ... rest can be shifted at 9.5 - 10K (ensure you quick shift and dont loose your gear teeth in the process .. if you're not used to this.) 148-149 kmph on meter should be do-able if you weigh anything less than ~70kgs.

Hoping you will be in decent amount of riding gear for this and not cause trouble to others.

Otherwise, I shouldn't even be suggesting a speedrun test.

    Thanks in advance.

You can buy the OEM parts via the SVC.
AFAIK, they aren't very costly. Try to keep your chain lubed properly to avoid this in future

You can find them on ebay. Not very pricey IMHO.
The air pump may be a bit. The smaller the pump, the more time it takes to fill in.

A bigger nail bent in takes time and strength to remove.
Also to seal push in the rubber cement takes strength if you are not entering in the same angle at which the nail went in. And if you dont.. you're not sealing it properly either.

The whole set of stuff you need shouldn't cost you more than 1500
    - 1 airpump
    - puncture repair set (comes with prick tool + 5 or 6 rubber cement)
    - One cutting plier to hold and pull out nails.

I've done everything I can but the sound still persists. Went to ASC and local mechanics too, but they couldn't rectify the problem. It doesn't even need a pothole, just some irregular surface and the sound comes "tak tak tak...". Chain is properly tightened as required, neither too tight nor too loose. I clean the chain every 400 - 500 kms at home with diesel and lube it with chain lube spray. Please help!!

Note: My bike has done less thank 12k on the odo and the chain and the sprockets are in perfect condition as they are cleaned and lubed timely always by myself.
By any chance you have sorted this issue? I have same issue and it still persists. I did all things what ever you did, but no luck.

Like one of our fellow brother said, I have tried running the bike without toolkit and first aid kit, still no luck.

I checked with SVC, mechanic said that my chain is uneven. Though I lube it at regular intervals, it happened like that. My babe needs a service very badly and its gonna burn my pocket.

Help me if you have sorted this. Thanks.

Hello mate, actually the issue never solved and the only wayout was changing the chain sprocket set. Your mech is right as it is being caused due to the chain being unevenly worn. So if u don't mind living with the sound, you can ride the bike for some more time and then change the chain sprocket set. Or as another option, you can change only the chain and ride for some more time. This can solve the sound making issue for some time but it is very hard to find an original replacement chain only. Best bet is to change the whole set..
        Cheers!!

In interest of saving your money, and also causing uneven wear and tear , it is always advised to change the sprockets and chain at the same time.
Changing the chain alone will cause the chain to wear very badly and unevenly for the remainder of the life of the sprocket and when you change the sprocket next time , you have a almost bad chain which you had like in the first place.

So it is best to change both together.

          Cheers

Yes mate even i'm suggesting him to change the whole set and ride peacefully. It was just that if the sprockets are very good, then he can change only the chain and ride for a couple of hundreds of kms more and then go for the whole chain sprocket set change when enough funds are available. But this is just for a short time. Even I did the same before going for whole set change because both the sprockets were really good but it was jist the chain that was causing the mess. So changed the chain alone and it was good for almost a 1000 kms. Rode it till then and changed the whole set. Its like a jugaad but worked for me...

            Cheers.

              HI all

l am having a strange issue with my R15 v1.0 since the last few weeks.

My bike is 2 years & 9 months old, completed 21k Km and is in stock condition. All the services till now, has been done on time (every 70 days). From last 2 weeks, the bike is not starting when it has been kept in sun for more than 30 mins or even if the outside temp is too much(above 35 deg). The self motor is cranking, but the bike is not starting. It starts after I keep the bike in shade for some time or by evening, and then runs normally. There are no missing or power loss during running, and the bike runs smoothly.

After first few occassions, showed the bike to a Yamaha service center. They said it could be a block in fuel line, and changed the air filter and the spark plug and cleaned the petrol tank and fuel lines. The issue still remained. They checked the battery after a few days and it was showing almost full charge (11.95-12.5 volt).

I would like to know if anyone guide me to what the issue is from your experiences.

Is it because my battery life is nearing its end (still running on the stock Tata Green battery and use headlights for 30 mins every evening).
Or could it be some issue related to my Fuel pump?
Or in the worst case ECU??

I love my bike more than anything in this world and I am really worried now. Any help would be great.

Expecting a reply and thanking in advance...

either your fuel pump or spark plug cap, if it's battery or spark plug cap you can easily test with a multimeter (if you don't have one, get one it will save you money and time) instructions on how to test are in the service (not user) manual and easily found online, if it's your fuel pump it will cost you around 8k, spark plug cap 50 bucks and battery around a grand or so, hope this helps.

More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Guyz plz help me and advice me how to tie a backpack to R15 comfortably for log rides. This is how I tied (as shown in the picture) which gave me lot of discomfort last time.
For a 500kms ride how to tie this huge backpack so that it does not fall on anyside or on me while riding?

Thanks for the reply, Service center guys are also doubting the fuel Pump.

Anyway, lot of things happened in between, I send an email to yamaha customer care, they contacted the Service center here, and they have transferred my bike to a bigger service center for diagnosis using diagnosis tools.

Has been two days now, still didnt get any response...
                      Hope everythin turns out fine..

Guys, I would like to revive my R15 V1 after long time

So, what are the current trend in price for the following

                        1. MRF Zappers front – If not current alternatives ( yes, it will turn in to city commuter and not for tracks as it used to cut corners )
                        2. MRF Zappers rear – If not current alternatives ( yes, it will turn in to city commuter and not for tracks as it used to cut corners )
                        3. Battery
                        4. Rear Shocks – was last told it was around 1700 bucks
                        5. Firing cable – I mean the cable along with plug cap for the spark plug ( having spark leaks from the spark plug cap )
                        6. Spark plug – Any OEM damn thing will do ;-)
