  • ^^ best option is to call up the company directly and get information on this. or call up the dealer and tell him to give a concrete reply, which u will pass on to the company and verify that it really is so.

      • my handlebar jerks up and down when i cruise at low revs in high gears. what could be the problem? the svc guys changed the front fork oil and stuff but no use. you get the sensation of jerk similar to the sensation you get when riding over undulating patched roads. can i claim the warranty? could it be because of a bent alloy? the tyre pressure is remaining steady.

The R15 is a revvy engine and it loves to be revved. It won;t trouble you for keeping the revvs high for a long time.

Yes, the low end torque is lower but the handling would delight you enough to forgive the torque aspect.

Even though I am 6'2", and the rearset is way back, I loved every moment on that bike. Handles like a dream, and brakes effortlessly. The way it goes from 120 to say 40 brings a smile on the face. I have coined a new term for its braking : abruptly gradual!

No back/ wrist pains courtesy long hands of tall frame
Just that gear shifting was a nuiscance at times as I am not used to keeping the foot that back.

              Worth every penny!

Thank you guys, hope she brings smiles to my face every mile as she did to yours

              I have a query...
I'm planning to get a R15. Now I Live in a hilly area(somewhere in the western ghats) which means I've to keep the Engine in high revs most of the time as low end torque is less.....won't it be a problem to the new Engine and its run in?
              please help
              Thank You
also what I wanted to know is, as I stay in a hilly place, I have to keep the Engine on the boil most of the time. But according to the manual, the first 500kms shouldn't see upwards of 6k rpm(correct me if I'm wrong).
so wouldn't the run in of a new Bike be affected in a hilly place?

              Thank You

                        • Hi guys,

Today I faced a problem which I never heard of. Since I dont know the cause, I am giving out all info.

Bike has done 11k already. Bike is in stock condition and on motul fully sunthetic engine oil. Few days ago, I went for small 400 kms trip for a day. In reserve I had to ride 39 km and after many days I had do discontinue from shell petrol. After coming back I did nt take bike to office for next 5 days. Last 2 days I did around 35 kms. Again 15 odd in reserve(F sign). Usually I park my vehicle outside with cover on. At least 5-6 hrs it faces direct sun. Today around 2 PM when I started the bike, it did not came up! No engine fault light or battery sign. It just refused to come alive. Then I opened the tank for 30 odd secs, as I was suspecting the air has gone in. Then it came up but again died in few secs. It continued for 3-4 times for 10 mins. Finally some how I manage to start.
The idle rpm always rests at 1k rpm.

What could be the prob. guys? Little worried since this is the 1st weired problem I am getting from the bike.

                          • Fuel Pump (Yamaha YZF R15) - makes some snoring sound

I took Yamaha YZF R15 in November 2009 from Pacer Motor, Bangalore. From the first day I had some snoring sound coming out of fuel pump. And I got it replaced by Yamaha India/ Pacer Motor, Bangalore. Special thanks to Mr. Andrewson, Yamaha and Mr Shekhar and Mr Ramu from Pacer Motor Bangalore.. Both Pacer Motor and Yamaha India put their definite effort to resolve the problem. I am happy for that. But still the sound is there . This week end I rode 700KM and now the sound is so intense.. Yamaha replaced my fuel pump with a 2010 lot R15 fuel pump.. So please check who have 2009 and 2010 lot R15.

Any solution to resolve that problem will be appreciated.. Bellow is the mail conversation log between me, yamaha india and pacer motor, banagalore.

Thanks to Mr. Andrewson, who followed up the issue smoothly.

Thanks to Mr. Shekhar,Pacer Motor, Bangalore for replacing the stuff.

Special thanks to Mr. Ramu, Pacer Motor, Bangalore for his nice service and friendly nature. And attending my problem personally.

As per the plan I went to Pacer Motor, Bangalore today. The service engineer at Pacer Motor communicated that the Yamaha R15 Fuel pump is not in stock at any of the service station at Bangalore. I will be informed for the replacement of the fuel pump, once it will reach from Delhi.

@ Dear Mr. Shekhar : Please inform me for this activity after the arrival of the fuel pump..

                            Thanking you.

                            • Hey guys..!!
I just returned after my R15's first servicing..!!
In the manual it was mentioned that we have to replace the oil filter element..!
I wanted to know if every owner in here had got this done or not...because the SVC guys told me that it was not in stock..so i couldn't get it done..!
But they said..they would do it in the second servicing..!
So should there be any problems with that..?

Yes, its normally done in the first service, but if not done get it done later. but I personally wouldn't recommend you to run it for 2000kms more before you change the oil filter.
Or best thing, get the oil filter some other Service station and change it at home.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.
