If you have removed brake pads and cleaned them, and yet they rub the disc, it could mean the brake line has a fault.

Do this, next time when you remove the brake pads, take the caliper in your hand, and push the two pistons in. At one point you'll see they reach their limit, and when you push on one piston the other starts getting pushed out. After this re-assemble the brake system and slowly press the brake lever. It will be without resistance, and the lever will touch the throttle grip. You'll have to do this very slowly. Don't hurry this. Slowly keep pumping till the brake starts feeling normal. Then see if the problem persists...
    You get the point?? :D

Frankly, no one was sure if that could solve the problem, but that's one thing they could find. But once set right, it never troubled me again. Even when I was running at 20PSI reat tyre pressure the lowest mileage I got was 36 KMPL.

Call that "R15 owners syndrome". I am scared to brake on other bikes now a days. Even on the ones I am so very used to.

There would be. Call up the regional office and request to speak to the service head for the region. I met him in a service centre when he came to attend another bike and had taken his number. That was useful. But then, I went to the SC with my problem, they checked and suggested we make a call to the service head, I called him from there and fixed a time for the next day. So, cooperation from the SC too is important but not mandatory.

Are you sure the sound is from brakes?

4000 RPM is where most sounds like Chain noise and fairing vibrations are heard the best. They come back in at about 6000 RPM but a little mildly. Might want to check them out too.

      • Met With an Accident

        HI Guys, Good MOrning
i met with a small accident today. On the way to my office an Auto guy took a Turn to my side and went with my right side rear view mirror, the mirror is gone. it got ditached from the mirror Holding Stick. The auto guy just went like that. not even stopped . And the NUmber plate wa written in Kannada. so i was not able to note the number itself. i don't know when these guys will learn to be decent in behaving.

@ all bangaloreans: i have been staying in bangalore for the past 3 years and whenever such things happen the Local people here tent to raise voice against other who doesn't know Kannada. Now a days it getting more and more. i'm very much disappointed with these kind of behaviours. Please if you guys meet someone behaving in simillar manner please educate them about this.

Please advise me on what should be done if situations like this happens in future.?

Also any of you know what is the cost of the right side rear view mirror?.

            • My woeful luck with my rear tyre continues. Even after putting a tube in last week I get no peace. Suffered a puncture over the weekend caused by a small cut on the tube and today morning when I wheeled the bike out I saw that it again had a puncture. Its done only 137xx kms.

Time to change the rear tyre. Looking at options to the MRF rear in case it is unavailable / over priced.

Met a guy in office today who has put a tubed MRF Nylogrip 100/90 Pulsar tyre on his rear. He says its held well for a year and it cost him Rs 1600. And best of all no punctures till date . Wouldnt mind going in for this if the grip is good. Is this the P220 tyre ? Any suggestions ?

Another option is the Pirelli 100/80/17 which is available for Rs 1900 from Autoqueen, Cochin. Has anyone tried this ? Any feedback ?

              • @Tijo: Sorry to hear bout the accident man! I hope you are fine.
The right RVM cost about 250 bucks..

I haven't personally been involved in a situation you're talking about, but I have heard many such incidents. Try and learn atleast a bit of the local language, it surely helps!

@All: Those whose bikes are older than a year now, can you please tell me the IDV & premium you paid on renewal of insurance after first year?

Yes after one off road riding, the faring was vibrating, I removed the mirror and the colorless part of the faring on the top of console panel.. Stick some double sided tapes and reassembled the whole.. And it is fine now..

I am so sure of that friction from front disk, because the disk is heating up after a short ride also.. There is a delay in each sound and higher the RPM delay is less and sound is intense... It is like two moving metals are coming in contact in some time intervals..
