A** Holes... guys please tell me whats the problem with my bike
its just 45 days old bike and 1 free service also done still the gears are
hard especially when upshifting to 3rd gear and all downshifting gears
are hard...nowadays i dont even like to take out the bike
1 thing I've noticed about the R15 is that the gearbox is so smooth that even when sometimes you dont pull in the clutch fully, the gears shift effortlessly. I've done this a couple of times by mistake and didn't even knew that I was doing it till another r15 rider corrected me. So kinddly make sure that you arent making the same mistake.

Apart from that I was facing a bit of problem while shifting into 2nd gear from 1st, as the bike would get stuck in neutral. Also, downshifts had become a pain really. But all this vanished at first service when they changed the oil. How many km's have you clocked after you had the first service done?

I am experiencing the same thing. Shifting from 1st to 2nd is a bit sluggish as the lever stops in neutral otherwise the shifting is smooth.

Also, my rear shock seems to be really stiff, throws me off the seat on low speed bumps. Is this normal?(I weigh around 53 kg) The front forks make a squishing noise when going over ruts and bumps at low speeds. Does that mean they're low on oil? In any case, they're not major enough to be called quality issues. Right?

I am facing the same problem of squishing noise from the front shock absorbers. Can u tell me is any of your frnd is facing the same issue as I have seen some bikes without it..svc guys says that it is normal and I dont believe them...

Which SVC is this, what oil are you using & how much has the bike clocked since last oil change?
If it is Yamalube SS, the problem is pretty common. Switch to a better oil next time.

Again what oil are you using, & how much has it run?
Did you go to the SVC with the issue? If no, go there & get it checked. Adjusting & oiling/greasing the gear lever solves the issue most of the times, as it did in my case.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                      It isn't '09, it is '08.

From a layman's prospective, the pre '09's have four projectors/ lamps compared to 2 for '09/'10.

                        the pre '09 r1 has 2 projector + 2 multi focal reflector headlamp assembly , not 4 projectors .

That's an '04,'05 or an '06... 2007 and 2008 R1s have bigger Ram Air intake ports....
