no man its not the sound of fuel in the tank...it is the sound of fork....the same sound used to come from my car's front shock absorber and it came due to the leakage of fork that I had to replace and now the sound has gone...But the problem in my bike is that there is no leakage....

I brought home a can of motul 5100 semisynthetic oil today from karol bagh. Costed me rs450 with no discount whatever
. The grade is 15w50.
Gonna get my second free service done tomorrow.
The list of things to be done in the 2nd service as per my understanding is:
1.change of oil
2.cleanin of air filter
3.lubing and tightening of chain
4.washing
5. 1 Bonus item:checking of my damn speedo sensor.....lets hope that I save my 550 bucks and it gets replaced under warranty

I've given my R15 for its first service today.. done about 600 KMs.
The mech said that the service does not include Lubing the chain. I will have to pay separately for it.
Wonder why does the service leaflet mention lubing of chain to be done @ the service .. !
I dont want to lube the chain from the SVC centre as they are out of Yamahas Lube. Motul, i've heard, sprays lot of lube on the rear wheel.
So i'll get Yamahas Dry lube and then lube the chain..
And the mech actually recommended NOT lubing the chain as the 'monsoon's going on .. he was like, Sir i will lubricate your chain with engine oil.. and pls lube the chain with either Motul or Yamahs stuff post monsoons !
How good/bad is using 'engine oil' on the chain ?

^^ not really. i know of SVC engineers also recommending this procedure for dirty chains, and especially during rainy or wet season. You can use gear oil if you really have to have a temporary fix.
The motul chain clean and chain lube will work fine if the chain has been cleaned and washed and dried properly. Which means soaking with kerosene, blasting with pressurized water, then air, letting dry and then using chain clean, and then after sometime using the chain lube. All in all atleast a 20 min procedure ( thats what the SVC engineer told me, but then would a mechanic be that patient! ).

R15 Engine stalling while decelerating
hi xBHPians,
i have written before about my bike's problems. since, i could not come to any conclusive end, i would seek your suggestions once again. here is the problem on my Yamaha R15:
1. it ocurs mostly during the first 10-15 minutes after switching on/starting-up.
2. the bike stalls without any noise or jerk while decelearting, pulling in the clutch...regardless of the gear i am in.
3. if i slow down keeping the throttle a bit open and clutch pulled fully in, the bike runs ok.
4. then, if I switch to neutral, the bike idles well.
5. if the bike stalls, it is relatively easy to start it up once again, not too much problem.
6. right after start-up, the bike idles at 1500 RPM and after riding for 10-15 minutes, it idles at 1700-1800 RPM. the normal range is 1300-1500RPM, isn't it..??
anyone having the same problems..?? please let me know what could be the reasons behind this. is it loose clutch cable, bad fuel, incorrect Idle RPM or, oil in the airbox (I had a fall 2 weeks back) or anything else?

It can be any of the issues you listed below?Originally posted by ashaq54 View Postanyone having the same problems..?? please let me know what could be the reasons behind this. is it loose clutch cable, bad fuel, incorrect Idle RPM or, oil in the airbox (I had a fall 2 weeks back) or anything else?
have you checked the basics?
- The Oil levels and condition
- The Air filter
- The Idle RPM level on a cold start vs warm start
- Is there clutch slippage?
- Is there any valve float, does it makes the 'loose marble' sound when you rev it?
- Try cleaning and re throwing in the sparkplug
Post the same request in the ownership thread and you will get answers there as well. If I am not wrong you are the same guy who PMd me about this as well. If so, looks like you have a problem with the fuel quality. You need to get the Injectors cleaned at a SVCSuper CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

thanks for the suggestion bro'. will post this problem of mine in the ownership thread.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostIt can be any of the issues you listed below?
have you checked the basics?
- The Oil levels and condition-just had a full servicing 2 weeks back before the problem started occuring
- The Air filter-it's clean and clear
- The Idle RPM level on a cold start vs warm start-will check it again
- Is there clutch slippage?-will check it soon
- Is there any valve float, does it makes the 'loose marble' sound when you rev it?-there was a sound of that kind..kinda' vibrating noise while revving up..after the servicing, it has been solved
- Try cleaning and re throwing in the sparkplug-will surely do so.
