Be careful when you take such decisions.
well dude, that other guy is me only!!
last time, they had not changed that link i was talking about..
this time they say they'll change both..
the things that happened earlier have left me more worried about the consequences..
well, i feel till there isn't any proper break-through in the reason for the sound, i won't allow them to fiddle around with my bike and make it a guinea pig..
as that yamaha engineer said, the sound doesn't exactly seem to be a concern..going by his words, ill learn to live with it rather than making it worse..

go to page 748, there is a discussion about the no. of rivets(not elements) in the old and the new clutch housing.. read the whole page and posts by jd666.

other than the fact that the older r15 was imported from indonesia( i guess)
and the new ones are imported then assembled in india, there is not much difference between the two models, leaving alone the new paint job.

97 octane is a waste of money. R15 doesn't have a high compression engine. Runs fine on normal unleaded fuel.

but i have a personal experience because my friend's R15 (2008) model feels like a rocket compared to mine (2010) model so i thought that this might be a factor in the performance difference i.e the elements in the clutch plates or rivets whatever....!

R15 is recommended to run on 91 or 92 Octane fuel. Its got a regular compression ratio of 10.4:1 and cannot handle the higher energy output from the 97 Octane fuel.

The octane number signifies the amount of iso-octane present in the fuel, which in turn makes it more combustible. Superbikes need 97, since they operate at higher ratios of 11.4:1... they can handle the Energy output, besides, they are designed to extract every ounce of the power their engine can possibly make.

If you put 97 Octane in your R15, it ''might' have adverse results on the engine. More combustion than what the cylinders can handle, possibly? Anyway, it has to be tried and proved to be sure :P

I guess only the RC 1060 is supported by our bike, the other filters suck in too much air or screw the AFR resulting int he bike running lean. Confirm this someone?

                      thanks
Took the bike to the local puncture guy who removed the tire and checked it for leaks. There was a slow leak from the rim/tyre edge which was the cause of the loss of pressure every 2,3 days.
He removed the tire and applied normal grease betwn the tire outer and rim inner edge.Paint flaking of the rim edge is the cause of loss of the usual sealing effect.Checking the efficacy of this repair job.Seems to be holding out so far.

How much do you ride? If you are riding more the 97 will overwhelm you.

Well, Speed can be used with our bike without any problems. Its also regular octane like other fuels but it has certain additives that clean the injectors when you use it. It just improves your bikes overall efficiency

Atleast thats what I think :P
