You don't go below 7 and don't up shift till you reach 10, makes sense?

Anyways, I am out of this debate and salute you all who ride like man possessed.(inside city confines with d0gs/cyclists/autos) I am chicken hearted and allow all and sundry to get past me and smile.
And still have spent around 40K on riding gears alone. Wish I had a stronger heart. And I am crying that my pencil is shortest and bluntest amongst all here.
          Look who's talking!!!

          I'm the pollo here.

I don't see how lubing the chain and the gears have any relation? The max the chain lubrication can reach is the DRIVEN SPROcket and the DRIVER Sprocket. Nothing else gets lubed. The gears are inside the engine compartment, in th GEARBOX.

What I could think of is, you havn't put in the right amount of engine oil, which is resulting in UNEVEN distribution of the oil inside the gearbox. This causes the shifts to be smooth sometimes and hard the other times...
Hey, lubing the chain and both the sprockets does make gearshifts slick. Try it and feel for yourself.

How much has your bike covered on the existing chain?
Did it wear out because of normal wear-tear OR due to lack of maintenance OR some other reason?
The T, well, had a highside long time back. Its a long time pending.

I've done 19.5k kms and the chain's on its last notch on the pullers. I actually didn't maintain this one. Irregular lubing, high speed running on a bone dry chain (riding with SBKs no less!) has resulted in many bent/jammed links...

Lol. Yeah, its my resolution also. Lets hope I manage to stick to it.

As for the RTR style levers, there was someone on this forum who'd got his levers removed, and scrubbed with sandpaper to remove the paint. So you have neat metallic levers.

I had the sandpaper idea a couple of days earlier......bikers do think alike
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

                • Hi Guys.
I own an FZ 16 and im planning to buy a new bike soon. I want a performance machine this time. Im not talking about the superbikes, but our very own 150-220 cc good performance bikes.

I would either buy the R15 or wait until March for CBR250.
My question to you R15 owners is:

                  - If anyone has rode Fz16, can you compare the pros and cons in daily commuting / traffic riding.

                  - Rider comfort in R15

                  - Pillion comfort as compared to Fz16. Fz16's pillion seat is too hard for the pillion rider

Don't worry dude. it is supposed to be like that. just put it in the first gear n raise your gear lever slightly. You are supposed to miss the neutral when you swiftly change from 1st to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st.

P.S. this was my first question i asked in this thread after i got my bike and had got the same reply from a member!

                    • Guys, Done with my second service of my bike and the ODO is at 4200 Kms. But i had mentioned to the service center guys about certain nagging issue with my ride and they hadnt rectified it as always ..

Since i had to take the bike on a trip i dint read much into it and took the bike from the SS. But i was not satisfied completely with the bike either. So thought i would call the showroom manager and give him a piece of my mind. Guess wat,
I get a call from the Service Manager asking me to explain the problem with the bike to him. I tell him that Front and Rear disc makes scrapping noise and there is a tak tak sound from the monoshock when i navigate through bumpy roads.(Yes, veryron i also have the same problem as yours)

He asked me to leave my bike the whole day so that he would take it for a ride and rectify all the problem. I took my bike today to the service center, He asks one of his guy to take it for a ride and the guys tells that all the problems that i mentioned are there in the bike. I left my bike with those guys and will be getting it tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed to get my bike niggle free.

well i know we are supposed to miss the neutral while swiftly shifting it from the 2nd to 1st and vice versa but the bike isnt going into neutral even on trying to raise the gear slightly ... i know how to get it into neutral but it just isnt going right now! :'(
