I went SC today and he confirm that Yamaha sent SMS for those peoples who haven't change radiator yet or who belong to old R15. nothing else.

i didn't mean how much it has clocked, wanted to know when you purchased it..
anyway, got what info i needed in what you wrote later..
        thanks!

btw guys, does your clutch lever make a clicking sound when you depress the lever??
i've noticed a similar click on depressing the front brake lever on many bikes(not R15..pulsar, etc.) ..not on any r15 till now..what is that click sound anyway?

        • I'm facing a lot of problems with my shock absorbers, When every there is a speed breaker I've to stand up on the bike else the bike pushes me up in the air with loads of jerk. I sometimes feel the front suspensions are very hard.. What might be the issue?
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

I heard that similar click while applying front brake of ZMA. I think there is some kind of switch for turning on rear brake light, not sure!

though the circumstances were different..didn't run out of fuel, but refueled from an unknown pump as i was running low(not too low though)..
it all was fine till around the 3k-4k range, twice or thrice in the third gear, 2nd gear (with pillion), i felt jerks, i.e. the bike misfired.. the next day i tried, it did misfire in the same range and circumstances..
told this to the svc, he checked, cleaned the spark plug..the mech said, there isn;t a need to clean the injectors as the bike is new, told me the reason could be bad fuel..although i don't feel the same jerks now, but there is a lag when, say i'm in the 3 gear, around 3k rpms, when i twist the throttle completely, the bike doesn't immediately accelerate, there is a lag..still don't have a solution for it..and as you say, the acceleration isn't upto the mark..i've posted my problem earlier too..no solution yet though..
do keep us posted about the difference(if any) after the injectors are cleaned...
btw when are we supposed to clean the injectors??any specific kms/time??

p.s. not a air filter problem, mine is clean too..
Guess we're sailing in the same boat . I'll try my luck at my regular svc and revert back.

              • 15W50 or 10W40?

Hmm, now I have finally decided to move onto the Fully Synthetic range of bike oils by Motul. Yamalube was just OK and I wasn't completely satisfied with the semi-synth oil since I always tend to rev near the red line. Now, my dilemma is that Motul has two types of engine oils under the FS range for 4 stroke bikes.

Motul 15W50 and the Motul 10W40

Now, I went through the bike's manual and it reads that I can either put SAE 20W40 or 20W50 oils in the bike. Which means both the xW40 and xW50 oils are compatible. Now, I want your opinion on the two grades.

What would be better? For my type of riding. I rev hard and live near the redline. The place I live has temperatures between 25 and 34 degrees. Almost sea level.

Which FS oil grade would perform better? I good answer would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Just a personal opinion.. while in city limits and shorter but power rides in city and local freeways, YamaLube feels much better (smoother) than Motul 5100T

However when doing longs, suppose 400kms at a stretch, here, somehow Motul 5100T feels smoother than YamaLube SS

Most of time, bike stay in city so i prefer in YamaLube..

Just shared my personal exp.. thanks..

                    • The old R15 had 5 element clutch plates and the new one has 4 elements in it??? Does that make any performance difference ??? beacause i feel that the older R15 is much more quicker than the new one i.e true racing colors
Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!

From where does the 220 come into playground when I am talking about R15? The jerks are also arised due to clogged fuel filter or 'Fuel Injection Pump' (that's FIP).

P.S: Yes, the 220 does have an oil filter. Every bike has a oil filter. In 220 and other Pulsars, it is called as 'Oil Strainer'.

                          • Guys, a couple of questions:
                            1. When my bike gets heated up & the radiator fan kicks in, if i switch off the bike (ignition switch) & turn the ignition switch to ON position again immediately, the radiator fan does not kick in again. Is this normal with your bikes?
I have seen a video of an R1 on YouTube where the radiator fan kicks in as soon as the ignition key is turned to ON position (I'm not comparing the R1 with the R15 here, but just the way the radiator functions.)
                            2. Both the RVMs on my bike vibrate a lot above 4k RPM. They were fine until a few hundred Kms ago. The rubber strips below the RVMs are very much in place, & the allen key screws are tightened. Any ideas on how to get rid of the vibes?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                              1) It will not start again if you turn off ignition. This things happen with me. so my view is it is normal.
                              2) Windshield hook may be broken (see the attached picture)
