I guess, Xbhpians just wants to make you "INDEPENDENT".
Never mind, but according to me, you can get lots of information from Manual and beside that, step back to dozens of pages of this thread, I am pretty sure, you will find your answer.

Was in a dilema to choose between R15 or CBR, I love R15 but don't like the rear look, if new R15 is indeed launched next month then I will close my eyes and go for it (will save 50K as well).
That's really an awesome news for the Yamaha Lovers Like us. But there is always doubt until and unless Yamaha claims for that. I am hearing this kind of news since 7(SEVEN) months or more . . . Even, various auto magazines and websites claimed for that, but later, they removed the posts. I guess, I should make a habit to believe in authenticate information only. Otherwise, patience goes in vain. .

Yes it is the same case with me buddy, I am waiting for the bike since the spy pictures came out, but since there was no authentic news of it coming out I started to plan for CBR but now again it is there, will wait till May (as I have already waited for this long) and if the bike is still not out then will go for the CBR.

Ohh, Please, I don't have right to override your mind, but it would be a matter of great pleasure and in fact, it would be matter of brotherhood, if you go for "Yamaha". Whether current version of R15 or newer version.

No, they're the Yamaha billet aluminium lever accessories. They were titanium colored when I bought them, but faded later.

                    • Hey guyz..
i booked my r15 in April and was given 50-60 waiting days and was promised delivery in first week of May.
                      what do you guys think?
will i get the new model?
or should i cancel my booking?
i personally think the performance of new model will lower(fat tyres) so is the new model worth waiting again?

                      • Dushyant: performance or no performance dont worry about the new model, if you have booked it just start reading this thread in order to know more about this machine. The current R15 is one of the best in its segment.... new model will always keep flowing in the market

                        • Frankly saying the new R15 has broader tyres but when it comes to grip and stability it looses in front of current R15, take the example of FZ16, Pulsar 220 or fazer they are broader than R15 but when it comes to riding in different conditions the friction caused is much higher than the existing R15 tyres. So in that case the broader tyre looses badly in performance front. I agree as some say top speed is higher, looks are different but broader tyre in my personal opinion is not effective in cornering, braking as the current ones are. The thing to consider over looks is the friction which causes when you take the bike on highway at considerable speeds.

This is my personal opinion. rest choice depends on the owner.

If the spy pic is authentic, I personally feel the tail looks yuck from the rear. The current one is better but for the slim tire. It is your choice finally. Also, the rear seat utility is reduced because it is now very narrow with grab handles removed.
And you are right that he performance might go down because the news has it that it is only cosmetic upgrade.

                            • @Wildest - Dude u got ur r15? or are u gonna wait for longer?

See, This is all just speculation. The new r15 could release tom itself or mayb could release in decmeber. Also the new r15 has just been seen in spy pics, So the after product mayb a disaster or a cosmetic improvement with a tweek in the engine. Whatever happen, The performance figures will remain approx the same. Like i said, we can all just keep speculating and guessing stuff, better dan that, i suggest people who wanna but the r15, BUY IT!! The new model has no Info on anythin.

Cant really say anything of this sort unless you have actually ridden the bike. Frankly speaking.

The current tail looks 2 generations behind the tail of the new bike. The split seat is actually more comfortable for the pillion, so as to be able to grab the rider, and support himself/herself from the tank. And keeping in line with international styling, grab rails are being removed everywhere. The ninja 250 also does not come with one.
