@JD - I hate pillions and had removed the grab rail on my earlier M'cycles. Tried on the R15? I wish to know how it looks.

What ever model gets launched, the older black R15 looks fab. I still can't keep my eyes off her

^^ youll have an empty spot on the tail. And the older one does look dated, because in comparison to the front, the side panels, and the tail covers look more from a non faired bike, because they actually are from a non faired bike. The styling doesnt get carried over from the front to the rear. The newer design would be a much needed injection..

And then i would just wanna find out, if the new tail can be fitted on the older model!!! hehe.

. As i have already mentioned, I had booked Red R15 before 7-8 days. Other colors are available but red one is not in stock. They are asking me to take other colors but heck NO

! Today only I looked this forum and some dudes are talking about the confirmation of New Model. If I get the official news from Yamaha within few more days, I will definitely wait, otherwise, there is no DOUBT, i will go for current one.

I can't part with the my old one for the new gen models. So shall depend on you for the modded version.

(Was offered 85K for a bike which has done 2+ years and 14K+ kms, accessories are worth 10K I believe) I didn't plan to sell, but when I took the price up to 90, was shocked to see him relenting. I politely backed off

I dont think that would be true my friend. I think the senior service guys going to Yamaha training is because of the upcoming FZ 250cc as pointed out by BIKE india. Thats what i am presuming to be!

Oil for Run in

Hey guys can you tell me would using Motul oil for run in void the warranty? I was thinking of buying Motul mineral oil for the first service .Should we stick to the yam oil? Experts please help. Thanks

This site gave me good running in details BTW. Should i go for this version or stick to word to word of the manual? What say experts?

Even I have confusion!!!. In that website it is well said that we have to use Motul 3000 4T mineral oil at first 150KM and then at 450KM. Then Motul 5100 semi-synthetic oil at 2000KM. Author of that website suggests that yamaha engine oil is expensive than Motul. Is there any other major differences? Can we totally rely on this fact and go for Motul?

MOTUL and YAMALUBE is the same thing yamaha dont make engine oils they just brand motul under their yamalube...if you notice that bottles of yamalube and motul are exactly same...and all other things in SVC example chain cleaner and chain lube is of MOTUL.

this review says not to use fully synthetic oil..why its also not clear not to use it in run in or always.?

It is said for the first 3 servicing i.e. till 6k kms during run-in use mineral and then try using semi-synthetic or synthetic

I also wanted the R15 red. God knows hw u ppl have waiting periods, we have on the spot delivery in hyderabad, Over dat if one showroom dsnt have the specified colour, U have another 5 showrooms to ring up and get the colour. ;P I am buying myns on monday(finger crossed). Cant wait for the beauty anymr. :P

Fuel Problem?

Currently 12.7k km on odo and have been using Shell Premium/Normal petrol till now. Recently got tank full at Bharat Petroleum with normal petrol. Since than I am experiencing pretty weak acceleration of the bike in lower revs. Specially time taken to reach the power band (~7k RPM) is longer than what it used to be with Shell petrol. Is the current problem because of adulterated petrol or because of some other problem.
Last servicing was done at 10.5k kms.
