If its swaying a lot, then I'm pretty sure your bike is mis-firing. The spark plug is either worn out, faulty electrical wiring, screwed up firing order etc etc can cause this. As far as an R15 is concerned, the needle should move once to a higher RPM as soon as you start in cold conditions and then after 5 minutes, return to regular idle position of around 1.4k. If your needle sways left and right, then its due to improper firing. Keep your hand on the seat and firmly press down when the bike is in idle and try to feel any hard knocks from the bike. If you do feel them, then it confirms the problem.Originally posted by veyron999 View PostNEED HELP!!!
every time i start the bike when it is cold (a cold start), then the rpm level rises to 2k rpm or more.. does this happen with all the bikes???
and the tacho needle sways quite a lot now-a-days...
what is the reason for the swaying??

Is that what you are experiencing? The above problem was due to messed up throttle cables and throttle body. Fuel could also be a problem.D'oh!

swaying rpm needle
yup, same problem..i had posted this link along with the link to the video i had taken of my bikes startup before in the forum..Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostIf its swaying a lot, then I'm pretty sure your bike is mis-firing. the last time i had the problem, it went away after the spark-plug was cleaned..
this time im not sure.. the svc fellows said its normal - the swaying! (as usual).. though i don't agree to that..
what i notice is that the needle sways more violently when engine is cold..
when warm, it sways but much lesser in magnitude and frequency...
i do feel the hard knocks on idling on the handlebars even when the engine is warmed up..
yes, the rpm settles to its normal 1.4k after the engine has been warmed up..but what i'm asking is whether the rpm going to 2k or more is normal..
need more inputs on this issue guys...
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

i don't think so! take a closer look at the image..there are a few modifications (screws to fix net in place) which i don't think mechs can manage to do neatly..Originally posted by pranjalshukla View Posti guess they are just going to add net to the existing panel without replacing the whole unit
p.s.
sorry for not multi-quoting..after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

Just tell your friend who asks for a ride of ur baby that you will surely give him a ride when your baby has done with the run-in period and all! then after if they ask for that tell them some kinda reason (i.e your chain is kinda not tight etc etc) so that they wait and wait and wait for your bike to get ready until the day they forget to ask a rideOriginally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys since I am getting my bike tomm and so will be taking it to college day after so wanted to know How To Learn to Say NO to Friends

i too said the same initially..let the 1st servicing be done...
but unfortunately, they still ask me for it..
and trust me, shaking your head with your eyes closed always does the trick..
if it still doesn't then just try changing the topic..

i got mine this august but this thing is not there on my bike.Originally posted by DASCO View Postfree upgrade for side/front cover - net
see picture. red is the new panel with net and blue the old without net.
got info that Yamaha is upgrading panels with net in front/side.
think all owners need to contact your dealer for this.
new R15s all have net covering whereas older panels will be changed to netted ones for free.
thanks

Ha .. u seem to have the exact opposite problem as me , i booked mine and they said there was only yellow available , and i wanted blue or black . but now all the yellows are sold out and i,m waiting till december for the new shipment to arrive.Originally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys I am very upset today...Yeah I am getting my bike in 2 days but upset because I am getting this bike due to impatience...
My colour choice was R15 yellow which I am getting after more 20 days from today so total 50 days from the day of booking as i booked the yellow on 30th of oct
My problem is that I am a very Impatient guy. I just cant wait for that long and its my weakness. The showroom people gave me an offer to take either the blue or black R15 after 2 days or wait for yellow for more 20 days
Am I doing the right thing?
Actually my first colour choice was yellow and then was blue so I have to go with blue now as this impatience will just KILL me
I hope I dont regret later about the colour choice
So my advice is , take the bike and be happy with is , and understand that beauty is within , all 17horses of it ... + u can always get it repainted later ..Livin in the REDLINE district ------------------

Just tell, The side panel costs Rs 2000 or so. Indicators Rs 450 and Mirrors, Rs 500. They would definitely not take a spin, even if they do, they would be at 25Kmph in 3rd Gear!Originally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys since I am getting my bike tomm and so will be taking it to college day after so wanted to know How To Learn to Say NO to Friends

I have changed the sprocket set and it costed me RS 2690 that's including the labour. Looks like i had a faulty sprocket set since i bought the bike. I have been complaining about the small struk sound since i bought the bike, it's now resolved. I am a happy gooseOriginally posted by nagoo View PostChain and Chain Spoket Price
Guys ,
can anyone tell me current price for the R15 Chain and Chain Spoket [entire chain set].. different SVC quoting different prices .. [Bangalore]
im currently in Europe .. coming back in mid Dec .. so need to get my Bike serviced with new faring and entire chain set ... its now completed 2.5 years for my bike .. except spark plug and Tiers nothing has been changed [except air/oil filter]since i brought bike.
is there anything else i need to change ?
EDIT: I have been experimenting with a new Petronas Fully synthetic oil Syntium 1000 15W50, and this thing is far more cooler than motul for me. The engine feels more smoother than it use to feel on motul. But that's my own experience.
