for fz150i's performance its a quite a good bike, for acceleration, same as yzf-r15's gear ratio and 150cc, so not much of a difference except that it only has 5 gears compared to r15, ratio is all the same(had mine fitted the r15's 6th gear)Originally posted by Technician View Post@vontdeux - Welcome here on XBHP.com.
I am not a R-15 owner but still appreciate its virtues.
Can you give some account of FZ150i's performance, acceleration, top speed ,etc. of the model as sold in your country. Would be interesting to single out any mechanical differences if any. Also, any light on old Honda Tiger sold in the region. Thanks in advance.
front disc, rear drum compared to r15, and i think the fuel mapping in is ecu is a bit leaner compared to r15..(planning to fit r15 ECU to compare it soon..)
for honda tiger, is it the 400cc bike?with v-tec and non v-tec engine?

Yes, lots of experience in that fieldOriginally posted by dis-is-sid View Post^^ +1
lesson no. 1 ---> listen to experienced people!
:P
These are the HIDs on my bike. Thanks to KwokFist, I was able to re-adjust the way they lit up according to my liking, that is, only the Left one in low beam, only the right in high beam and both in a middle switch positionOriginally posted by dis-is-sid View Post@ ZeNashb

All's well with the world again...
The mech isn't done with the bike yet. The two times I rode it, it only seemed to need a pair of wings :PD'oh!

EH, what's his urgency? When I bought, I had to wait for a month because of no stock. Even I wanted only red, so had to wait. I offered to pay the entire amount of the bike + some extra commission to the dealer, but he just couldn't get me the bike since there were no bikes to give!Originally posted by Drifty View PostMumbai guys need some help here!!!

I suggest patience, but if its important that you get in a hurry, then you might have to go out of state...

Here is a short review of the Yamaha R15.
Engine - This engine feels like it is made for only one purpose - to rev as quickly as possible to the redline. It is also somewhat dual natured. Keep it below 5k rpm, it feels like any other 150cc engine, sometimes even slower. Low end torque is nothing exceptional but gets the job done. Refinement is average but the engine sounds silent. It can potter around at 4k rpm, but riding a gear or two lower at higher rpms feels much better. Compared to my earlier P150, which had the sweet spot at 4k rpm which translated to 60-65kmph on the speedo, this engine has its sweet spot at around 8k rpm. And the refinement of the engine at such rpms is just phenomenal - the engine may growl, but it feels very much composed. The engine just comes alive in a manner to be experienced to be believed and feels extra responsive and eggs the rider on to the redline. This aspect can not be matched by any of its competitor including the P220. And yes, it can run at such rpms all day long - this makes it a very good tourer. Inside the city, the rider has to work a bit to keep it on the boil, but the reward and satisfaction is immense. And with such smooth and precise gearshifts, the task becomes even easier. In all, the engine is very entertaining as well as somewhat involving. But one disadvantage is that, it may not feel "settled" at lower rpms that are commonly seen inside the city.
Handling - In this aspect this bike has no equal. Have a curve coming up too fast? Just dial in the appropriate lean angle and she will straighten it out without any fuss. It is almost as if the bike is on rails. The whole package is brilliant. The suspension is a bit stiff though, and may cause problem on broken roads, but is otherwise fine. Straight line stability is good too, but the P220 has the edge here. Brakes are very good with superb feedback - better than P220. I am not sure if she betters the Apache too in this aspect.
Build quality - Light years ahead of the all the bikes in the present market. There are absolutely no vibes present in the fairing. This is no mean achievement considering that bikes like P220 and even the ZMR face such issues.
Seating position - It is a bit aggressive. It takes some time to adjust to the position. Initially, palms will pain too. But once the rider gets used to it, sitting on some other bikes with conventional seating position will feel weird!
Electricals - Lighting is better that average, but could have been better. Rest everything including the speedo/switchgears feels superb.
Overall - A fun to ride bike. It is actually VFM if you consider the fun-to-price factor. But yes it is involving, so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. As for me, it is the best bike on the market right now. (excluding the Ninja 250R)Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!
