. I tour on a CBZ right now, but never tucking on the tank. I was expecting the R15 to be a mild mannered bike for cruising at 100-110 kmph, but sounds like ZMA is better when it comes to ergonomics. I'll let time decide which one to go for, though I agree the Fazer being promoted as a tourer, with 165cc mill, was a sucker punch. A better torqued out mill would have been nicer, but maybe that could be something we can expect in the future.

Yup i upped the pressure as soon as the service guy told me..Originally posted by tibby View Post1. Try with tyre pressure 28/33 for F/R. Never tried 20/20, & I would recommend you to immediately up the pressure in both the tyres.
2. The bike does heat up quite a lot when new, when ridden in stop-go traffic.. Nothing to worry about, except that you can check to ensure that the radiator fan is kicking in when the engine heats up, & that that there is no radiator leakage..
I heard that sound only once after that..never again later..
Have i explained the sound properly?
If the sound comes again, i'll check more..
Thanks for putting some light on the the engine thing..i'm relieved now..
How do i check the radiator fan?
Btw..i was concerned about Essar petrol..is it good?
Also..how will you rank Shell, Xtrapremium and Power?

If its a prob with the disc pads, i think you'll hear the sound irrespective of the tyre pressure.. Nothing to worry IMO, coz the sound comes at those ghastly low tyre pressures, which is anyway not recommended..Originally posted by gaurav_c View PostYup i upped the pressure as soon as the service guy told me..

Reg the radiator fan kicking in, its a continuous low whizzing sound that comes from the area near the front forks, when the bike is a bit heated up.. But for this, you will need to keep the bike in ignition ON mode, thought the engine can be switched off (using engine kill switch)..
I use Unleaded Bharat Petroleum petrol in my ride.. Have no clue about Essar (its not available here)..
The others are also good.. But i suggest you try them out yourself, a little later, once the bike has completed its run-in..Last edited by tibby; 08-13-2009, 07:01 PM.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Run-in on 1 brand of petrol?
I already had 1 litre from showroom(unknown brand)..then 2 litre of power..
Then 8 litre of extra premium..
And this time when tank was getting empty, i put essar..
This is an issue?
Btw..why dont you use BP's extra premium instead of Sada?
Also..please tell me how to remove petrol from the tank..i wanted to do that yesterday coz of essar thingy..

Naah! Not an issue at all.. Its only better if you use 1 brand.. No harm in mixing..Originally posted by gaurav_c View PostOmg..

So drop the thought of removing petrol from the tank..
People generally prefer using 1 brand, & maybe 1 bunk..

But anyway if someday i have a problem and i gotta remove petrol, what is the way?
Some kind of pipe like normal bikes? I mean..some pipe connected from tank which we can remove and collect in a bottle..
Possible?

Ok..enough..
4 days since i bought my bike and this continuous sound..
I was riding it an hour back and that wierd sound was coming constantly..
I'll try to explain properly..
The sound is something like when a metal is rubbed on a floor. Many people hate that creeching sound of that kind. It is surely tyre related because that sound repeats after every tyre revolution. The sound stops when i slow down but it starts coming when i increase a little speed..above 30..and the loudness and repetition goes on increasing with speed..
As i explained before, the service guy(who didn't look much qualified) told me that it's coz of really low tyre pressure. I upped the pressure and the sound stopped. But an hour ago again it started and much more amplified than before..
I really need some help because it's a brand new bike..
Also..i had called the showroom this time and the guy said it had happened before with new bike and it's because of dust or dirt stuck in disc..
I dont even know where the sound is coming from..but looks like front or rear tyre..
Guys..please help..

Why do i have the feeling, that you are suffering from the legendary R15's chain sound syndrome ?Originally posted by gaurav_c View PostOk..enough..

Weird Noises
Hey Guys. I bought My R15 5 Days Ago. Its my first bike ever, and I am enjoying EVRY MINUTE spent on it. Already doing speeds of 100+ (momentarily) and learning to pop wheelies
.
I know I should go easy on it, till the first 2 services, but ITS SO HARD!!!
HERE'S the ISSUE I have been facing. My bike starts making noises after 2nd gear, when engine rpm cross 3000. Its something like
Krich..........Krich..........Krich..........Krich .........As the RPMs increase, speed increases,it becomes Krich...Krich...Krich...Krich... Shorter intervals, same noise.
Any Idea what this can be? My first service is due at 500kms, and I have already done 300 in 5 days...
