After all, for 80k, one can buy a 21 bhp bike itself (after 23rd or so).

I felt that the reason might be that she is not leaning on the turns, so bike is acting stiff. She has no idea how to lean. So, if this is the cause, can anybody supply me with tips about 'how to lean for beginners'? I searched on the net, but everybody just tells you to lean. Nobody is explaining how. I've not been able to put it in words either.
Thanks!
hey just show her how to lean the bike when she is sit with u.....

I used it once on R15, Its very good for 3-4 days. It can be used on plastic too. I never had problem on my Xtreme on which I used it extensivelyOriginally posted by archibaby View PostI got some Formula 1 wax .. was cheated with some formula usa wax .. went back and got Formula 1 ..
anyway the wax says it is not recommended for use on "metalized plastic" .. the 1 5 is all "metalized plastic" IMO .. so is anyone using Formula 1 wax on this.

I cant believe that price for the upgrade kit..To me, both the prices sound extreme, and extremely hard to believe (especially the 80k one)! 15-20k should be it..Originally posted by docv View PostHey boy i had talk to the area manager of North India, he told that the racing kit is coming in end of july and it ll cost near about 8000-10000.
Hehe.. & add to that the price of the R15.. Should fetch you 2 P220s, at the prevailing price, and a lil more than 2 (lol) at the speculated price for the soon to be launched upgraded one...Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostYeah, that's too much. Some communication gap somewhere ... I'm sure it maybe 18k.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Guys..
came to know from the showroom that the kits are some really professional kits and only for racing purposes, for racing teams and racing riders thats why the cost..not simply for sale across the counters ..and the performance is really really something to look forwards to..some serious top whack...your guess is as good as mine..

and there is a Yamaha race in Chennai on Sunday 28 June...
and press launch before that in Chennai..

life starts at 32
... Came across this forum a few weeks back when i was searching for reviews on r15, was not around a year ago when this bike was launched, loved the thumpers and the crusires and always thought that is where i want to go, But infact realised that i should keep that experience when my kids start running around.
Saw the R15, feel in love with it.., did the research , gave a hard thought ( the 1 lk tag), when one saturday morning.. to Orion ( would not recommend them) and booked the bike, Counted the days, finally left work early.. the sky was grey.. Orion B#$%^ made me wait.. waited paitently and finally laid my eyes on her... black,
It been a few days now, just crossed the first 100 kms ... waiting for the Run-in 1000k mark ( it is 1k or 750 will do ?) , touched just around 5k rpm with single and doubles, changing gears at 3.5-4.5 rpm, IndianOil XtraPremium.... all good till now.
Love this site.. have been thinking of a post for long and here it is.
Great set of riders here, nice to be around people who love their machines....
Got a few queries.. wish you let your experiences speak
- I carry a laptop everyday to work, though the ride position is far more comfortable than i thought.. is there any options of fitting some carry on gear to ease the burden of carrying it around.
- when i switch the bike off, give a "cluth " sound in the end.. is this usual
- Sometimes when i stop in traffic signals and shift to Neutral, it shows neutral but then as i release the gear cluth cautiously.. it jumps as if in gear. I tend to be cautions about this as it occurs 1/7 times.
- What rpm should the engine be idiling at when given a cold start and during a regular restart during normal run.. and should these differ significantly
- I do find the gear and brake lever a bit small, specially when the footwear differs, Is there anyway that this can be made more comfortable / convinient.
Thanks Guys.. these are my queries at this stage. I am starting to enjoy the feel of this bike.. and i am loving its every moment.
Peace

As for your queries,
1. As far as I know, there are no fitting options for the bike.
2. The sound is quite normal, atleast from my personal experience.
3. False neutral is common when the bike is new. Even I used to worry, but eventually it became alright. I have heard the same from the other owners too.
4. From my knowledge.the idle rpm should be 1.2k-1.4k rpm at any instance. There should be no significant change.
5. Nothing can be done about the levers, just the position of the break-lever can be adjusted to suit your comfort.
@ all:The above are my points of view, and if anyone has any corrections to make, they're most welcome.
Peace!

Guys, The beans have been spilt! The Yamaha Racing Kit is gonna be launched on 26th of this month according to the Yamaha RideTech Challenge release. Power might be around 26/27bhp and few people are saying the entire kit might cost around 60k!
That's insane we all know, but the better part is that the individual parts are choosable, we don't have to buy the entire kit.
EDIT: Forgot to add, it seems it was on CNBC also 3 days back.Last edited by digislayer; 06-21-2009, 05:03 PM.Sunny.

130 tyres on R15 bike sold in Nepal!
I met this guy at the SVC here in Nepal, this dude already got 21K kms clocked... recently got into an accident at 80kmph... He was unhurt... and the best thing that he told me is that.. this bike just manages to make you safe.. as the rear wheel just stops.. not like pulsar which tends to get deviated...
In the new lot of R15 bike sold in Nepal, they have got this 130 tyre fitted at back and the front now holds the tyre which was at the back in the first lot... Check the pics.. the treads are awesome.... Is this tyre fitted from company.. am not sure.. hey guys! what do you think??? does the new lot R15 housed new tyres now over there in India too??
One more thing.. that guy the one i met at SVC he got a leaked Radiator.. but the SVC guys out here are very frenly
.. they got it replaced under warranty.. to get their full services you just have to be a member by spending 500 rs NC and you get a total of 10 free services under your belt plus other good things.. see the attachment... need some input guys
