i dont think it can be 80,000 cause one can get a brand new r15 if he puts another 30,000 must be 18,000 and not too many people would get those kits installed if its really 80,000 and yamaha should be mad to price them for 80,000 just not possibleOriginally posted by siveenks View Post

....with this power, it would give a tough competition to the Ninja also!

I told I heard it from people who witnessed the RideTech championship at Chennai! Plus few people have seen it on CNBC too. I too personally doubt 26bhp, but even 24 is too good! And I personally know that 23bhp is assured at any cost!Originally posted by Srijan View PostOMG! 26/27bhp??
Source?? Btw, what does the kit include?? 60K is a heck lot!!
OT: Are you participating in the championship at chennai?
Also heard that the kit would be available only at Chennai for the first few months,..the Chennai people must be knowing better about the whole thing!
And no, I'm not participating in it, I'm at Hyd :PSunny.

I dont think they're launched officially yet.. you're talking bout the yellow-white and red-white combos na?

I agree too. Mostly my guess is since R15 was earlier tested with 22bhp, it could be achievable. Maybe they detuned it&now they're planning to give us the original version.
What we all wanna know is for how much?Last edited by Sarvajit; 06-21-2009, 11:50 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Hope someone from chennai can confirm it here!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostI agree to. Mostly my guess is since R15 was earlier tested with 22bhp, it could be achievable. I am awaiting input guysOriginally posted by freakzil View PostI met this guy at the SVC here in Nepal, this dude already got 21K kms clocked... recently got into an accident at 80kmph... He was unhurt... and the best thing that he told me is that.. this bike just manages to make you safe.. as the rear wheel just stops.. not like pulsar which tends to get deviated...
In the new lot of R15 bike sold in Nepal, they have got this 130 tyre fitted at back and the front now holds the tyre which was at the back in the first lot... Check the pics.. the treads are awesome.... Is this tyre fitted from company.. am not sure.. hey guys! what do you think??? does the new lot R15 housed new tyres now over there in India too??
One more thing.. that guy the one i met at SVC he got a leaked Radiator.. but the SVC guys out here are very frenly
.. they got it replaced under warranty.. to get their full services you just have to be a member by spending 500 rs NC and you get a total of 10 free services under your belt plus other good things.. see the attachment... need some input guys

Congrats on the ride bro! I can imagine what you must be going through.. I too got mine just over a month back..Originally posted by irfan1476 View Post
... Came across this forum a few weeks back when i was searching for reviews on r15, was not around a year ago when this bike was launched, loved the thumpers and the crusires and always thought that is where i want to go, But infact realised that i should keep that experience when my kids start running around.
Saw the R15, feel in love with it.., did the research , gave a hard thought ( the 1 lk tag), when one saturday morning.. to Orion ( would not recommend them) and booked the bike, Counted the days, finally left work early.. the sky was grey.. Orion B#$%^ made me wait.. waited paitently and finally laid my eyes on her... black,
It been a few days now, just crossed the first 100 kms ... waiting for the Run-in 1000k mark ( it is 1k or 750 will do ?) , touched just around 5k rpm with single and doubles, changing gears at 3.5-4.5 rpm, IndianOil XtraPremium.... all good till now.
Love this site.. have been thinking of a post for long and here it is.
Great set of riders here, nice to be around people who love their machines....
Got a few queries.. wish you let your experiences speak
- I carry a laptop everyday to work, though the ride position is far more comfortable than i thought.. is there any options of fitting some carry on gear to ease the burden of carrying it around.
- when i switch the bike off, give a "cluth " sound in the end.. is this usual
- Sometimes when i stop in traffic signals and shift to Neutral, it shows neutral but then as i release the gear cluth cautiously.. it jumps as if in gear. I tend to be cautions about this as it occurs 1/7 times.
- What rpm should the engine be idiling at when given a cold start and during a regular restart during normal run.. and should these differ significantly
- I do find the gear and brake lever a bit small, specially when the footwear differs, Is there anyway that this can be made more comfortable / convinient.
Peace
Have done 1400 Kms already..
Regarding running-in, it is recommended to not exceed 4k RPM (60Kmph in 6th gear) till the 1st 1k Kms.. After the 1st service at 1k Kms, run the bike till max 5-7k (100Kmph).. After 2k Kms, begin ripping.. But remember, start opening up the bike slowly..
Regarding Orion, I guess no one here from B'lore would recommend them.. Have read enough s*&t about them on this thread..
Though kimikid has answered your questions, just penning down my relies as well:
1. No fitting options available. In case you carry your laptop in the leather bag, I suggest, go for a laptop bag (backpack/rucksack type).
2. The sound is normal. I too had this query a few days after I got my ride. My older bike also had it. Confirmed with SVC mechs, its nothing to worry about. Though the bike seems nicer without the sound, since its not a point to worry about, relax.
3. Yeah. Even I had some issues with the false neutral. My earlier bike had an all down tranmission, so it took me some getting used to, to the R15's 1-down 5-up. Also I think you must be facing this issue when moving into N from 1st. If its happening too frequently, then I suggest you shift to 2nd from 1st, & then to N. It should slot into N perfectly then..
4. During cold starts, my bike starts at 2k, then comes down to 1.5k (within a second or 2).. After the engine has warmed up, the idling is 1.2k..
5. Yeah. There's only 1 way.. A few hundred more Kms on the bike..
Cheers!
Can't be company fitted IMO. The stock front tyre has a groove in the centre, and thats for repelling water. Yamaha won't fit the rear tyres in front, for the simple reason that the bike will not have the front tyre with the central groove then, and that will make riding in wet conditions a nightmare..Originally posted by freakzil View PostIn the new lot of R15 bike sold in Nepal, they have got this 130 tyre fitted at back and the front now holds the tyre which was at the back in the first lot... So the dealer must have modified the tyres..
No problems bro!Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@tibby: Thanks for the pics. I won't worry about it. I got it oiled.
You owe me 1..!
@All: If its 24+ Bhp that the kit will offer, I won't be surprised if the entire kit costs upwards of 30-40k.. Remember, its a racing kit..
Not a chotu-motu performance upgrade..
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
