Try the kharcha-pani way. Cutting the exhaust (& later welding it) will anyway have to be outside (at a place other than a Yamaha SVC). It will prove costly, & tedious. & you never know some other issue might crop up.
Better to get it done at Yamaha Authorised SVC.

Nice to see you are enjoying the bike.

Please refrain from posting ride pics on this thread. You can create a separate thread for it (or use orkut, facebook etc) if you think that serves the purpose. No offence meant, but it doesn't fit the scheme of this thread.
PS: I think I saw a Jaipur g2g thread sometime back. You could post such ride pics there.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Today I got a call from svc saying that engine is leaking ! And they need my permission to check. When I went there the engineer over their showed me the top of engine(Once you remove the oil tank). It looked little oilish. Like a layer above oil bottle with little dirt. I have not seen that part ever. I am not sure is it an issue or not. In fact I hv never seen any leakage in my parking and its not even there in svc parking as well. Its like a swollen area. He said it might be a leakage in gasket. Again a new term for me!!! He said it cud be due to wrong tappet adjustment as well(done in 10k and new engine oil has been put).

Please thrown some light on it. Now I will receive the bike on Monday or Tuesday and I am not too sure what went wrong .
            Any help here?

            • the "under the seat" sound...

guys still no solution for that sound i was telling you about in my previous post..it seems as if it is coming from under the seat..as others posted before, it aint coming from the tool kit or the first aid kit.my bike being new(just 1200 kms) i doubt any bolt would be loose..though i cant neglect the possibility completely.. please help me out on this..what should i do????
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

same problem here with me and I know that it is not the tool kit....It seems the rear mono shock as explained earlier that the bush may be culprit....I didnt have time to go to the svc these days.....hey if you can visit the svc then ask them about the bushes near the shock absorber and tell me if it works.....my ride is also just done 2.5k.....

It indeed could be a damaged gasket( gasket is the rubber sealant/washer that sits between two metal surfaces in order to seal it properly and make it air tight). The gasket between the head-cover and head might have got damaged, or may not be installed back correctly when you got the tappet adjustment done, or maybe the head-cover was not tightened properly. Could be any of these two issues.

                        • Went to SVC today, the mechanic tried his best but couldn't do much. He says the stone has got stuck between two mesh like filters in the exhaust and is difficult to remove !

                          • Hi R15 Owners,

Has anyone of you booked the R15 in white? What was the waiting period and how much extra money you had to shell out.

Also would like to know if anyone has purchased the R15 of any color on loan, what was the interest rate and from which bank?
