I don't know whether you can really make out much of a difference in pickup in your R15 since it is very new, but yes, it will give you more even firing, so better throttle response as well. Please visit the NGK thread&company website for more info.

@All: Here is an R15 with golden rims.
I would shift to iridium in 3rd service coz the SS guys here are not found of cleaning the spark plug in any service.

The bike with golden rims is the same (i guess) which I saw at Pearl. Its true that its looks awful in real.

Officially clocked 5000KMs on the ODO.... Unofficially it should be about 6.5k KMS

My wobble problem was traced to be due to a faulty sprocket.... they will get it replaced...

BTW I saw a guy here with R15+K&N+Spitfire+Iridium and that things just ran...
Now theoritically unless the AFR is tweaked, the extra air and the extra flame wont help... (which the modder also agreed) but what he said is kinda funny-lame-and-brilliant at the same time...

He says that the extra Air that the K&N gets, is burned by the Spitfire and iridium combo... Now that bike did run much torquier, though it sounds like a fartbox ...
So is the analogy right, experts... guinea pigs... please reply!
The throttle increases but engine doesnt survives in a long run. As told by a mech: He himself fitted a K&N (1060) into an R15 and later the owner wanted to remove it as the engine became rough. Then when he removed it, the engine sound never came back to normal.

    EDIT:
I remember a guy posting that he was using "Foam Filters" for R15. I guess UniFoam. These filters are used in Dirt Bikes, mostly off roading where there is a lot of dust. He mentioned that he was getting a great performance+FE. But he never posted the results in long run.

Did you get your pollution check certificate? How much was the CO level?

My Mechanic promised to find it out for me but is yet to come back with the answer.

My bike has it at 0.27 but some others are on 0.10. The mechanic said 0.27 is still in the given margin but is higher than usual.

Get it checked somewhere else... 1.24 is not acceptable under Euro III... so, u should not get a certificate too...

          Refer the table:

          • CO level

As per the pollution check certificate:

            CO level is 0.03ppm
            Allowed is 3.5ppm

              Refer the table:
As per the manual and the pollution certificate the CO level during idling should be less than 3.5%. The measured level of my bike is 1.54% , then I suppose there should not be any reason for worry.
Still I would take the bike to the SC this weekend and get it checked.

              • ^^^ Yes guys.. it is true about what you have mentioned from the manual and the Pollution certificate...

but the image I have pasted earlier is taken from a document titled "Auto Fuel Policy - Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India".

Well, that's just the outer panel on which the R15 logo is present. There's something called as a collar(the mesh panel) too which costs 260 Rs each, but didn't mention its cost since you didn't ask
