The NGK Iridium spark plug model no for R15 is CR8EIX , the NGK G Power(platinum) model no is CR8EGP and the stock spark plug model no is CR8E.Originally posted by svjhonda View PostOh, and by the way, is the NGK spark plug CR 8 E an iridium one? Or is the Iridium one called CRX8E? I've done 5.5K kms, so I guess it should be better if I change to the NGK right?
I am using G Power which costs 140Rs and there is no noticeable difference in performance only the engine is a bit smoother than before. The Iridium plugs cost 700Rs+ and should be used with spitfire cable to get the best out of them.

Yes, I got one message two months ago after my 2nd service. I replied to that sender with some big text like with all the problems I got. Very soon I got another message saying "please reply with Yes or No"Originally posted by svjhonda View PostHey, did anybody recieve any messages from Yamaha that 'you serviced your bike from _______ on 25th... and are you satisfied with the service'?
Because I did, and obviously I said no! Just a few minutes back I recieved a call from the dealer whom I serviced it from and his voice was very oily, asking me what the problem was. I told him about the careless service, and the mechs forget to replace fairing screws for which I had to do round trips to the svc just to get some damn screws back in to stop the noise/vibration. He said bring your bike either today or tomorrow and we'll look at all the points where you felt our service was lacking. He needs to submit a satisfaction form signed by me, to Yamaha or they'll do some more arm twisting. So people who are utterly dissattisfied with service, can actually get things done this way!
Oh, and by the way, is the NGK spark plug CR 8 E an iridium one? Or is the Iridium one called CRX8E? I've done 5.5K kms, so I guess it should be better if I change to the NGK right?
. I did reply again saying big "NO". No call or response from the SC so far

Could you please throw some light on "Spitfire cable". Is it commonly available at stores?Originally posted by surbhit View PostThe NGK Iridium spark plug model no for R15 is CR8EIX , the NGK G Power(platinum) model no is CR8EGP and the stock spark plug model no is CR8E.

The IX series is the high performance series by NGK.
The DSG guys have publicly said, on their website, that JB (Juice Box) for R15 is under development. Hope they manage to get a proper deal (imports) with TW (Two Brothers).Fear is the Trigger!

I am not sure how we're gonna setup spitfire cables for R15... atleast, hope they are available... The spark plug cable doesn't come from coil but comes from the ECU and then via a High Tension booster (yes, this is not the correct word)...Originally posted by surbhit View PostThe NGK Iridium spark plug model no for R15 is CR8EIX , the NGK G Power(platinum) model no is CR8EGP and the stock spark plug model no is CR8E.

Exhaust note changes to a deeper sound as the engine opens up... generally hapens around 5-6K KMs.
Touring shows on the fairing... minor sounds from fairing creep in at certain RPM's. I guess it is mostly the bubble screen - when I put my hand on it most of the noise subsides.
There is a clutch bell noise that has become common in some R15's... Again nothing that alerts you but you'd know that this noise exists.
Performance.... no difference. Just rocks.

I dont really think that we have seen any R15s with major mods so far on xbhp. Last week I saw this blue R15 with a wider tyre & minus the mud guard, spoke to the owner about it. He told me that he had got a MRF 110 fitted on the rear & that he had raised the height of the rear end of the bike. Initially I thought it looked slightly taller but I put it down to the visual effect of the resized rear tyre. Looked different overall.

as stated earlier - 20K Kms for sure... might even last upto 25K. Not sure when they'd start loosing grip. Also, this numbers is for highway usage... for City usage it would last longer. This is for rear tyre.. front should last longer!Originally posted by winzeee View PostDoes any one know how many KM does the R15 stock tyre last ???
