    My dealer also told me that the engines for R15 are made in Indonesia&Malaysia. Mine's from Indonesia-he says the better of the two. However, he never told me about any difference in character of the two engines!

    • All of the r15 engines are made in Indonesia , none in malaysia.

        I agree.. I have done nearly 7000 kms and never seen such a problem... but just recently i realized that the fan doestnot start when the engine gets hot..esp during heavy traffic.. rather the coolant indicator glows.. but when i checked the coolant.. it was filled to the brim...

              [Edit/Add] It will be great if every member of this forum stays that way which is "Exaggeration to the limits" otherwise it really feels heavy sometimes.

              And yes the Astra makes a 0- 60 in about 14 not 4 secs (with perfect shifts). Did not understand how a Baleno eats it for every meal having 16 bhp and 7 cc more. (Perhaps the context is not fit for this forum).
              Precisely my point sir.... There is a lot of stuff that goes on deciding the top whack... the CC and the bhp are just variables which matter but are not the only deciders...

              @Samarth... good point...

                    Although the cc is the same, things like the CR, bore/stroke, components weight, ports, head design, efficiency, weight of the engine, frictional losses, pumping losses, fuelling, transmission, transmission losses, overall mass etc etc will decide the on-road performance of an engine/car/bike.
                    FYI a 993cc MPFI zen produces 60bhp while a 1200cc Fiat Palio produces 72bhp on paper. But in real world performance, the Zen will smoke the palio effortlessly. Literally.
                    Never go by an engine's on-paper figures.
                    We have enough examples of the p220/p200/p180/p150 which look amazing on paper. On road performance is something else.
                    This is how a 1.6L Baleno chews a 1.6L Astra to death.
