Please explain logic behind what you are saying, as knowing the logic will help me to follow the practise.
Thanks!Originally posted by archibaby View Postwhen you brake, the front is pressed firmly into the ground (inertia) and hence accounts for most of the braking. So effective braking = a front heavy brake balance. The back brake alone can't stop your vehicle as effectively as the front can. However on wet/slippery surfaces you will have to adjust brake balance to avoid locking your front wheel and slipping. The vehicle will be more manageable if you lock your rear wheel.

1. In muddy/ slippery areas, this order should be reversed! (Read: The rest 10% cases!)
2. If Front Brake is heavily applied, then applying rear brake may cause it to slide @ rear, due to lighter rear ... There is NO such problem on my Pulsar ... However, considering your R15 very light & hard front brakes, better be careful ...
This 2nd situation is just my realistic imagination ... It never happened to me.. ok?
I guess the guys answered your query. Its when you apply your front brakes, there is a transfer of weight to the front of the motorcycle, which leads to a concentration of weight on the front wheel. Due to this transfer of weight, the frictional force(F) being used to stop you increases(F=u*N, where N is the weight on the front wheel, u is the coefficient of friction). It is also for the same reason that when you apply the front brake, the rear brakes lose their importance somewhat, because of the decrease in weight on the rear. However, as pointed out by Archi and Samarth, the 15 is pretty light and under conditions of gravel/mud etc, the rear has to be brought into play, or else the front may lock leading to a fall. As the rider, you have to make a judicious estimate of what to use when.sigpic

Thanks guys! I have had quite of an accident in July, as I applied my front a bit more than necessary. It was my olf Freedon Topper & the road was wet. I simply put down the problem to my applying front more & took conscious efforts to stop applying front brake. Now, it appears that I was wrong all along & unless the road is wet, I should apply front more.Originally posted by pudix View PostHey Adway

Thanks for entertaining the question.And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

I am on motul and am changing back to yamalube .. Motul isn't the best for this bike .. revs freer but harsher.

R15 offroading adventure... happened Yesterday.
Awaiting my laptop to upload photos... when the thread is open I shall post them here... well, the bike didn't have much of a trouble.... in fact, the only trouble was when we got huge round stones after crossing a water passage and when we misjudged the path and ran it into a pit of gravel stones
That's to do with the button less tyres

Told you that day Yamalube is awesome. Used Castrol and Yamalube on the R1, Yamalube is just fantastic. Expensive but super. I think it's made by Exxon Mobil."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller

Im not going in for synthetic oil in the near future for the bike.

hi buddies,
I need info about the process of registration. Previously I used to approach a broker, but now I wanna do it myself. Can someone here explain the process and also on which name should I take the DD if I want to reserve a specific no. of my choice? I'm from Hyderabad and I need to go to Khairatabad RTO office for the registration. Thanks.Once human-being, now Biker.
