like I mentioned, it;s weld rust .. you won't find corrosion on the metal but at joints it's quite obvious .. As far as I remember corrosion at welds is quite common and hence the paint job at the welds should be good to prevent it from occurring. If there is too much rust it could lead to a safety concern where a person will fall through the deltabox frame (highly exaggerated). Anyway the headlight stay seems to pick up more rust than any other part.

dude..it is definitely a safety concern.. i think claimings for insurance are just knocking the door....yamaha get ready if you are still not taking any steps... i think the company should call each n every customer to do the paint job at the metal joints..Originally posted by archibaby View Postlike I mentioned, it;s weld rust .. you won't find corrosion on the metal but at joints it's quite obvious .. hey guys... even i hav noticed a bit of rust near the joint which is under the sppedometer cluster... also a bit of rust on the corners..where the front visor is connected to fairing thru bolts..
so what shud be done then..?
shall i show this to the service center or shall get some paint and apply it on the rusted part? or shall i get the WD40 spray?
Also another question is when i use the dipper(low beam) at night the illumination is perfect covering almost the entire area in front of me.. but when i use the high beam.. entire light goes way up in the sky which shudnt b the case n it shud b on the road itself covering a longer distance than the dipper..
So is there any adjustment by which i can adjust the focussing? the way i used to do in pulsar 200? i myself m not gonna do it but will get it done by the service center guy..Ketan Nikharge.

Ketan, even you can do it by yourself...there is a screw behind the headlight fairing (from where you open the side light bulbs in case of any replacement)...put on the headlight and rotate the screw with the screw driver and the focus will get adjusted...its very easy.....Originally posted by ketan_r15 View Posthey guys... even i hav noticed a bit of rust near the joint which is under the sppedometer cluster... also a bit of rust on the corners..where the front visor is connected to fairing thru bolts..

of course, it is only the surface rust... but why should my 4 month old R15's side stand rust where my shoe touch to put it on and off while my 4 yr old Victor only looses the black colour and shows a shiny white colour there....Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostIs it rust as in proper rust where the metal has thoroughly corroded or it might actually be just surface rust which is pretty okay and be removed quite easily.
Most metal parts are heat treated and hence it is usually takes a pretty long time for stuff to rust inside out!!!
This is not acceptable. Pls check the photos ur self.

@ketan_r15
do the head light adjustment ur self when dark on an unlit road... with a star screw driver. there is a screw on both the sides for each of the bulbs just ahead of ur handle bar on the inner fairing. turn it left to lower and right to raise the beam.Last edited by HydBiker; 11-18-2008, 06:43 PM.

well, I actually went for my Victor's speedo light and asked the guy if they come in colours. He said that they do come in colours and at that moment he had only white and the ones I got... @ Rs 6 each, I didn't think twice to pick em up!Originally posted by DriftKingNT View PostCool. Are the bulbs available in Blue?
There were many such on ebay.in and also available in car accessory shops.
