    Hello,
    I am posting some pics of the Single Seat Cowl and the Tank Pad which I got today. Seat Cowl is not of a good quality. Those Rs.500 fairings are much stronger than this 2k Seat Cowl. But the looks are improved by the seat cowl. Now even guys with R15 stare at me. Tank Pad is good and worth buying.

    @Aparajith Seat Cowl is Strap-on on the existing seat. It can be removed whenever you want.

          Exactly my thoughts. Get rid of the saree guard.

                    just take some chain lube and apply it on the rust. Then go searching for some spray paint. I am still hunting.

There maybe ten billion things that the Yamaha people consider when they go about making a motorcycle like the 15. Thats why we pay them more than 10^5 bucks for a motorcycle. Its not like the engineers try tyres of different profiles and sizes and then vote on which one looks best. How a motorcycle scores on the looks scale is a different department altogerther. Even that is a case of form following function, NEVER the other way around. If the FZ16 sports a 140 or the Gixxer has a 190 on the rear, there has to be a reason behind it. I don't know what it is, but it sure as hell ain't looks.

                      And yet we go about tampering with something as crucial as the rear wheel for the sake of aesthetics. If we all knew whats best for our bikes we'd have customized bikes with every Tarun, Dinesh and Harjeet on every corner of India's billion streets. The 15 has a lot of things other motorcycles currently dont offer. Though with all the modifications people seems to be doing, Im forced to ask you all: Is'nt this motorcycle wonderful enough as it is?

                      Just my head, dont mind.
                      Great Scott! How absolutely correct you are! I don't see, why people are not ready to believe in YAMAHA guys (Not the sales/SS team, but the designers)! If they have given you such a nice machine, they must have put some hard-work behind it (unlike some other local manufacturers). & I'm prestty sure, that if it were a better idea, to put fatter tyres, the designer team would have done it.

                      & Frankly, modifying that bike would be an insult to the designer team (If any of the team could be insulted by us novices)
                      And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

So, braking is really not an issue. As far as straight line acceleration goes, do people account for the increase in weight of the 'fatter' tyre?
                        Are you serious? Are we supposed to apply front brakes before the rear? Are we supposed to put more pressure on fronts than rears? Is it safe? I'm asking because, I remember sombody else (possibly you) quoting the same some few days back. That time, I had forgotten to ask if the guy was serious about it. Please explain logic behind what you are saying, as knowing the logic will help me to follow the practise.

                        • when you brake, the front is pressed firmly into the ground (inertia) and hence accounts for most of the braking. So effective braking = a front heavy brake balance. The back brake alone can't stop your vehicle as effectively as the front can. However on wet/slippery surfaces you will have to adjust brake balance to avoid locking your front wheel and slipping. The vehicle will be more manageable if you lock your rear wheel.

                              Dude, at 90% times, I use front brakes first & then rears & it feels safe. However, 2 things I would like to add:-->

                              1. In muddy/ slippery areas, this order should be reversed! (Read: The rest 10% cases!)

                              2. If Front Brake is heavily applied, then applying rear brake may cause it to slide @ rear, due to lighter rear ... There is NO such problem on my Pulsar ... However, considering your R15 very light & hard front brakes, better be careful ...

                              This 2nd situation is just my realistic imagination ... It never happened to me.. ok?

                                yup .. read the motul can .. it's anti rust so should provide enough protection .. just wash it off with vehicle shampoo before painting.
