Yesday on my way back from office, my bike got punctured. I took the bike to near by MRF tyre shop. On Inspection we found dat the puncture was caused due to 1 inch tear caused in tyre due to a metal piece(still in tyre). Dat metal piece went right thru d grip gap(where thickness is less)
So dey said either I have to use a tube or buy a new tyre..

Guys plz tell me is this d only option. I can't think of changing tyres in jus 5K kms. Please advice....

Is R15 tyres tires available in market now( dis MRF dealer told dat it's not available in market till now). If yes where can I get it in Chennai...

    Help....................

Plz any1 knows whether R15 tyres are available for sale or not?????

    • ^^I think you can get the R15 tires from Yamaha dealerships only. I have not seen MRF selling them outright till now.

Check from the first post buddy... also, if not in this thread, check the first impressions thread... someone in Chennai got them from an MRF dealer... You may want to ask the same in the Chennai G2G thread....

Also, if you need them for ur R15, if the Yamaha Service Center is clueless abt it, pls contact the Yamaha Regional Office. Check the last page of your manual for contacts. Hope this helps.

            • I rode Aparajith's R15 this weekend. And for the first time the R15 had me blown away with its performance.

I've ridden Mithun.08 and Santoosh's R15's but they have never felt as peppy as Aparajith's bike, and man she moved. I had a lot fun riding it for 10+kms on wide open Chennai roads.

I guess running in matters a lot. But still which is the correct way to run is something for you guys to figure out!

Me and santa felt the same after riding his bikes.. his bike was more peppy with lots of vibes compared to ours .. after 90+ santa complained about vibes getting more..

After 3 service my bike has changed a lot you need to ride it to know what it is now

                • The max I took his bike to was somewhere upwards of 110, the vibes were'nt so bad as you are making it out to be. Its was running a bit more rough, but nothing that would upset one.

Or maybe I din't mind the vibes too much coz I'm a pulsar rider.

Gotta check out your bike to really see the difference.

And one good thing about the service guys here in Bangalore, each time you give the bike for service they will add some vibes which need to rectified later by some know mech again

r15 is producing greater power than this then how can the v-ixion ECU help
no offences ,just a simple question
My friend we were talking about the ECU right? Supposedly that ECU allows you to Rev higher, as the stock ECU cuts off your power at 10,500 rpms.

Oh btw even that is an after market product.

I never noticed the vibes, cos my earlier pulsar used to vibrate like a JACKHAMMER! Why do the vibes matter, when the bike feels peppy!!!

                              • Ur spark plug has nothing much to do with vibes mate.
Been using the iridium ones for ages ,its nothin special ur regular copper beryllium plugs ll do good , its oly the self cleaning property and heat dissipating property of iridium plugs that make them better.

To actually know the difference , dyno it and oly then ll u know the reality ,

In that case i got my bike's ecu tuned with the FI Diagnostic tool ,
before guys jump , i just got the AFR optimised .NO ECU remapp and stuff

Its always the "feel" that we talk about and say the throttle response is better or things like that.
I feel " the bike gets to cut off much quicker now" , but its not that way.

my bike was behaving the same way when i had got it to the track , i very much feel that its the climate that makes the diff , if its hot , then the bike is more than happy , revs well and is peppy , once im back to bangalorez cold cold weather , the bike loses all that punch. It was opposite with my V1.
