i was thinking of getting the bajaj horn but the problem is not getting the horn the problem is the warranty i asked the guys at pearl Yamaha but they couldn't comment...i dont want to change the horn and next month find out that my 2 year warranty is invalid....
and any idea for a good place in hyd where i get a teflon coat done.. preferably some place where they also hace a paint shop becoz i was thinking of changing the black to red/yellow or white in a couple of months....

You may try 3B Matrix at Ministry Road, though I have done Teflon from Venkatesha Motors but have heard from many that 3B Matrix is the best option...

I am already using Motul chain spray and lubes...they do perfect job...but attract lots of dust due to crater full hyderabad roads.

This is how I lube by bikes chain.

Park my bike on smooth surface, and put some water around the rear tire. so that it wud be more smooth for me to rotate the tire.
It pretty easy and needs less energy to spend.

how many hyd owners got a call from Yamaha today about the race in chennai???
if not call pearl yamaha they called and apologized saying that they had no power o they cud not inform us earlier

went for my after-service 'service' today.. as mentioned earlier in my post here, had some issues after the first service.

what d mechanic says:
- nuthin much can be done to make the stock horn louder. he showed me a 'skoda' horn (bhoonpu types), a specific model which can be fitted and does not void the warranty.

- the shield vibration has reduced, also had vibration on right handle bar.. yet to test it fully now.

- the sound which i was hearing from the front was actually the disc rubbing with the pads, the rub had made round circles on my disc. it was because of dirt stuck in the pads, so he had to open n clean. i still didnt understand why the sound came only wen i pushed the throttle.

- asked him if any new software had come for the odo, says he has no idea about. the sales guy was not ready to believe that the speedo over-quotes!

- saw a R15 getting serviced which had wide rear tyre (non-stock obviously), just mentioned it to the mechanic and he was like "the owner has screwed the bike big-time by changing them". the chain-set got affected because of this, bike demanded rs1500 for the repairs.

what d showroom owner said:
- his showroom won accolade for 2nd highest R15 sales in India at the FZ16 launch in Mumbai. No.1 spot goes to a Banglore dealer. my guy has sold some 670 odd units. total India sales: 6000+

- he showed me a new brochure of accessories, there were about 9-10 of them, including the rear seat crowl and tank protector. surprisingly the paddock stand and exhaust cover were missing in the new list. It was a booklet which showed how to install every accessory. Pricing he said has not been decided, i can place a order n he will call n let me know. He was also not too sure if i can have individual accessory or have to buy the full kit.

- also showed me a brochure of ready-to-order R15 apparel which included a t-shirt, shirt, helmet, cap, full riding suit, gloves, key-chains, back-pack. this one had all the prices, u can ask me prices for these, i'll try my best to re-collect. guys this is R15 specific apparel.. the bike name embedded on each item (except key-chain n back-pack)

- says even he took initiative for a Chennai-like race for Mumbai, but says the govt. authorities are a big pain.. RTO.. BMC.. they just wont let u go ahead with the plan.

- said a R15 user living nearby, touched 149 on the speedo and came running to the showroom just to tell him this!

- says FZ16 beats R15 in terms of amount of booking it is getting!

i guess this is all i can re-collect from my today's visit.. kuch aur yaad aaya to will add.

As i posted earlier my bike has completed 500km(550 now), I took it again on the Highway today and luckily today the traffic was less so I was able to do what I wanted to. I touched 110kph at 7.8k rpm or something didn't go further as my bike is in running-in period. I was above 100 for 4-5mins and still the bike was cooler than expected. Handling is so good that you don't even feel that you are fast.
My bike fell down in a parking today. The stand was not put properly. When the bike fell I thought that there must a lot of damage when I lifted the bike I saw some scratches on the RVM and after a lot of searching I found a small scratch on Headlight cowl. Luckily there was not much damage to the bike.

i did 173 today in about 60mts and 5 seconds
seriously my speedo is screwed told the SS guys during service the funny thing is- that that day it showed the correct reading and he said maybe it was a temp glitch he wont believe it happens daily since 45 days

does anyone else have a speedo that is spoiled ?

and the biggest problem oil filters still not available !!!
come-on if they expect every bikes oil filter to be changed after the first service why dont they ship it with the bloody bike
i am getting really scared to do high speeds as since two days the engine is sounding coarse

they did not specify a date though
10 min later i got a message from them regarding the same
still thinking about going
in the message they said they will take care of transport
sounds like a once in a life time opportunity

also i called venkateshwara today they have no filters only patny yamaha have oilfilters but he was not sure if he had any spare becoz i told him that i dont need a service only filter change the asked me to call back at 10am on monday and then if they have any to spare they will let me know
