The guys at malad yamaha service centre say that they still dont have the parts for servicing.

(what bloody parts, its just one friggin oil filter!!!)

I am not going to ride till i get my oil changed.

any idea where i can get a oil filter from?

Don't bother changing the oil filter, just tell them to clean the oil filter and change the oil and lube chain and other cables, thats the max they can do for a new bike

The plastics are superb , no cracking , not even a liitle sound from anything.

i expected the rear suspension to be real stiff and would be bad , it turned out beat my expectation and prove me wrong,
was belting in no roads as i would on my pulsar.
The tyre is also lovely , no punctures nor any gripping problem.

the suspension is lovely , just get the air pressure right and u ll know what i mean , its beautiful.

not once the fan switched on in 5 days.
no need to check anythin for problems.
                  absoultely hassle free.
just needs chain maintainence regularly atleast for the roads i do.

took the bike on boat also :-D

                          • ^^Looks like ur having a ball on the R15 there Santa.

BTW got my 2nd service done at 2.8k yesterday. Switched to MOTUL Semi-synth(5100 I guess). The heating seems to have gone down a bit. The fan does kick in a bit later for one thing.

I was on city roads in crappy Chennai traffic and heat for over 2 hours yesterday evening. The fan came-on in around 30 mins of inching, and did not switch off at all. I had both bulbs connected for low beam and hi-beam as well. The radiator kicked in and after around 30 mins operation, voila the battery was dead! The horn would give out a very very meek purr instead of the normal sound and the indicators would not work. I did not switch off the engine as I feared the fuel-pump, radiator etc might switch off. I tried switching to hi-beam fearing my lo-beam connection was the mistake, but no. The same thing was happening. So on signals I switched off the headlights alone and waited. The battery did charge up on its own, but would go down once I switched on the headlamps. Once I hit sparsely populated raods and the radiator fan switched off, I started using low beam, but no battery drain issues.

BTW I got the accessories fitted yesterday. Fixed the mufffler end cap, oil level gauge and bar-ends in blue. Did not like the swingarm cover. One bloody bugger had scratched my tank at office around a week ago. I kept asking for the Yamaha tank pad and got sick of waiting for the damn thing. Went to the nearest BAJAJ showroom, got their tank pad and fixed it before the morons could do further damage. The tank pad is yet to arrive at Yamaha.

Off late I had a problem with my front fork. It would give a loud sound(something like a spring being compressed and released suddenly) when it hit a pothole or speed-bump. It used to happen under hard braking and sudden acceleration as well. While cornering the front, did feel loose and felt like it was slipping. Checked with my mech and he said the fork was loose. I mentioned this to the service engineer and he says he has rectified it. Gotta check. The radiator coolant level was also low, got that refilled. He has tightened the clutch cables and accelerator cables. The bike does feel a bit more peppy now. Let me continue verifying and I will update it here.

                            • Hey guys,

Since the battery is of a small capacity, can you not work around it ?? say having a higher capacity battery after market ?? I think it is possible or may be a parallel connection of battery probably under your seat !! jus thinking of it coz many of the guys will be interested in wiring both the headlights to work under low and high beams !!
