today done the 2nd service and now the bike is more smooth and the noise level is low, saw the fz16 and thought to alter the r15 silance with the fz16 silancer, and one more news is that yamaha is lunching FZ1 next year and the price is 7 lacs

Careful man .. you may fry the valves .. i was thinking of going with a no silencer set up. Only a short stub exiting below the footpegs on either side. Still have to work out the design.Originally posted by saudjawed View Posttoday done the 2nd service and now the bike is more smooth and the noise level is low, saw the fz16 and thought to alter the r15 silance with the fz16 silancer, and one more news is that yamaha is lunching FZ1 next year and the price is 7 lacs

They do have gloves in the showroom now.Originally posted by pundrick View PostDo they have gloves now? Are they recommendable if anyone have used them?
Also what is the functionality of newly added mesh?
Against some of your thoughts, the mesh gives a good look to the bike. Check it out physically once. Remember the Chennai R15 that got fried? This is a precaution to avoid such things.
Also, guys, pls don't speculate so much abt the power upgrade in the R15. I don't think they need to increase the power output of the bike to make it peppier in the lower RPM's... it is an FI unit and I guess there'd be minimal remapping. The 20 BHP claims are just rumors, I guess.
Abt the silencer, have u guys seen how much underbody piping the FZ16's silencer has? We cannot have that fitted to an R15 without burning out something.. .they engines & functionality are leagues apart.
@Jawed, FZ1 @ 7L is great pricing...

you what hydbiker is right
we should not get excited
most of us got disappointed expecting a min of 20ps when the bike was launched...i remember staying p to watch the countdown on the yamaha website and then thinking damn only 17ps
im sure they will just remap the ecu to broaden the torque curve and nothing more
but if the ecu can be remapped we can expect aftermarket kits to come out( like petes for cars) once there are a few more bikes on the road

@Hyd Biker:All R15 Owners Need A Good Punch From Low End Grunt,20 Bhp No Need Of it Else A Minimal Increase In Bhp Like 17.5 Or 18 Bhp
@ Jawed:Fz1 For 7 lacs, Is That The Fazer With Quater Faring ?, I Heard The Fazer Comes With 20 Valves In 2009 ModelFailure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

well at the Yamaha website.. FZ1 is a 998cc costing $9800, is a half-faired bikeOriginally posted by saudjawed View Posttoday done the 2nd service and now the bike is more smooth and the noise level is low, saw the fz16 and thought to alter the r15 silance with the fz16 silancer, and one more news is that yamaha is lunching FZ1 next year and the price is 7 lacs
and FZ6 is a $7300 600cc half-faired bike (both 2009 models) and all FZ1's and FZ6's have been half-faired.
...so wat model is the bike in Chetan's avatar...??| Judging a bike by a cubic capacity yardstick is like judging a female by her bra size |

i think yamaha tested their bikes at 22BHp at the begining with the same engines and later detuned..........so i think it is possible to tune it again back to 22bhp ri8Originally posted by HydBiker View PostAlso, guys, pls don't speculate so much abt the power upgrade in the R15. and the only way to tune the engine in FI bikes means programming the ECU ri8?

Who ever said that to you ... duh!Originally posted by jadhav92 View Posti think yamaha tested their bikes at 22BHp at the begining with the same engines and later detuned..........so i think it is possible to tune it again back to 22bhp ri8
The original specs were unknown even to most riders in the test team....
From what I know of they were targeting 21PS ... and they successfully hit 160KMPH mark on the test machine (Speedo)
Not exactly... the ECU in this scenario is used to limit the amount of juice that goes to the engine, so messing the ecu (or in a lame sense removing it) will mean removing the restriction and reaching the full potential of the bike!Originally posted by jadhav92 View Postand the only way to tune the engine in FI bikes means programming the ECU ri8?
experts please put some light on this
for R15 to be good enough, I guess the ECU remap will be good
for R15 to be a kick-a55 mean machine, I guess the ECU will have to be clubbed with a good freeflow (minimum) and maybe a new cam kit (i know am being hopefull)Last edited by satyenpoojary; 10-01-2008, 02:43 PM.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more
