  • R15 air leak problem without puncture (Bangalore)

R15 (V1) that has run about 15,000km. The rear tire has been leaking air at the rate of 3-5 PSI a day and finally settles at around 23 PSI or so in two or three days after being filled with 33 PSI. At the service center and tire puncture repair places they have checked for punctures but haven't find any. The service center did not try anything else either (like refitting it?). The front tire seems to have a similar problem, but at a much lower rate of loss (1-2 PSI a day).

What can I do to handle this? After getting it looked at and fixed, is there something I can look for to confirm that the work done is proper (other than monitoring it everyday)?

I would appreciate any leads on shops or mechanics who can handle this in Bangalore (preferably around the central area, like M G Road, but other places are ok too).

Check the rims for any bend and change the air mouth valve pin. I also faced similar issues. Found out that this valve to be faulty and was told by the tyre repair guy that it's most common and damaged while filling air in fuel station.

Attached the images just change the inner pin like portion . cost me just 5 rupees /Pc.

Many of us have faced the same. In my case it was a combination of bent rims, improper sealing due to paint inside.
Just don't allow anyone to reseat the tyre with the sharp tool. It damages the inner lip.
My brand new rear tyre was screwed and I am now managing with sealant.
Reseating should always be done by removing the tyre.
Now I lose about 0.5 psi per tyre per day after getting rid of rim bend and reseating the tyres.

like when i pull in the clutch while slowing down in city traffic..like when i reach around lower idle rpms.. Engine stalls and dies. I have to restart again to get going. what are things need to be checked.

Afaik, I think you need to check the idle RPM and get the fuel injector cleaned! Am not sure though.

                      Sorry for the delayed reply:

                      1. Check the idle of engine.
                      2. Change the fuel (adulterated fuel)
                      3. Check any blockage in air filter.
                      4. Clean the injectors.

Questions: If you are riding at higher RPMs are you still facing any problem? Also is there any warning sign coming on the console?

See I would be a wrong person for this question, as I have always stuck to stock. And with current tyre being the 5th Set, I still love the stock tyre. And trust me I have ridden this motorcycle to places where you will not even think of.

So as per me stick to stock, rest is upon you.
