      Hey Brothers...

Bumped across this thread as I am kinda feeling emotional about my 2008 P200 which has served me well since i bought it on 11th Feb 2008 and now that I want to move on and take on some higher capacity bikes. I recently booked Dominar 400 and would be talking it's delivery this Friday, excited about that but the fun part is now the feeling of partying away from my P200 is sinking in (as i planned to sell it off and arrange for some cash from it's sell for D400).
Going through this thread makes me think and wonder should i sell off my beloved P200 or just maintain it as my stand-by bike... some of words by fellow bikers has me into dilemma if i was able to tap my P200 potential fully or not :P
Btw, my lil beast has run for around 32K since 2008 as I had been mostly a city biker in past..and is really well maintained..
The only prob I now have with it is it's stance (I used to love it when I was young ..hahaha), daily commute wrecks hell on my lower back.. hence I wanted something relaxed and not less aggressive.

      Cheers,
      Rohit

This bike is just awesome. 15l fuel tank. What was Bajaj thinking? Why aren't they thinking the same thing now? Even the D400 has a measly 13l

          Costs ~450 (mrp is 470)
Can't find it anywhere online though. Maybe it is new in the market.
So p200 consumes 1150 ml for general service?

P200/220 has cooler right so it consumes 1.15 where after filling 1l itself I could see level till max Mark on the side of engine but I insisted mechanic to fill more and now it was above the max Mark. It won't be an issue right.

                No worries.

Also to note you're supposed to check inspection window after running the motor for 2 mins.

I just observed that I started this Thread when I bought the 200 in May 2007. And it has been 10 years now...I dont know how many of us still have this bike but I can confidently say that its one of the best bike that I've come across. Agreed that it lacks rear disc, no slipper clutch, abs etc. but I still remember the moment when people used you turn around on the road and ask me about the details of the bike

                    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

I'm facing a small issue. Engine oil is leaking from the glass. Is there any solution. My mechanic says that its difficult to fix the new glass as there is no surety that the leak will stop as the space is quite less to fix it. He suggested me to change the right cover of the engine.

Anyone else faced this issue? and what you did to fix it?

DG101418 - Is the part number for the lense. The lense and the clip would cost within 50/-. It would be best to replace it and try rather than go for a clutch cover replacement.

You could use a flat spacer if by chance there's excess clearance, silicon glue or some reputable liquid gasket would also get the job done.

This is a perfect example of how any motor can survive a long journey with proper care. People say that Bajaj cannot cope with the quality of Honda/Yamaha or even Suzuki this days. This might be true for quality of parts and engine refinement upto a certain level but there is a huge counter part of this statement. People who buy commuter segment Bajaj they hardly maintain the same until it breaks down. IMO really brand is not a factor till you know your machine's capability and it's requirements time to time. Finally thanks for such posting.
