Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Congrats. Hardly seen any of these bikes on the road anymoreOriginally posted by tanay View PostAnd 8 years to the date (Feb 12, 2008), I roll past 60K. So what if got delayed posting that.
Anyway, 60K in 8 years = 7500 km/year. Earlier I was clocking roughly 7142 km/year. So with two bikes, usage increases, weird but apparently true.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Thanks! I guess it is because they do need regular attention to keep running fuss-free and I think I've been quite particular about keeping it shipshape. Will definitely take it past 100K.Originally posted by The Monk View PostCongrats. Hardly seen any of these bikes on the road anymore

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Rode my P200 dtsi Goa-Bangalore on 22March 2016. Left Panjim at 6:15am and reached Kamanahalli at 6pm. Rode at constant 110-115 speed and occasional 50-60. It took 12 hrs for the ride along with around 6 10mins water breaks and lunch beak somewhere after Haveri. Sorry but did not click any pics of the trip. I'm thinking of riding again to Goa on 14th April 2016 early morning and back on 17th April.
By the way I need suggestions for good mechanics around kamanahalli area and how good are the authorised service centres.
The route I took.
Panjim, Karwar, Yellapur, Hubli (Nh4) upto Bangalore.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
I was looking to get the bike's oil changed and found that Motul has started selling the 3100 Gold mineral oil in a 1150 ml pack i.e. designed for P200/220 which require this quantity. I feel it is much better than buying two packs of 1 litre each and then keeping the leftover quantity with oneself.
Costs ~450 (mrp is 470)
Can't find it anywhere online though. Maybe it is new in the market.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi All, this is pradeep I have recently bought a p200 from my colleague and gave it for complete service as it was kept idle for a long time and asked to change all the oils, where the service centre folks are saying its an air cooled engine and doesn't have any special oil to cool the engine. But I assume by its tag line oil cooled there must be coolant for it am I right? Please do help me on this folks

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Every engine is oil cooled , What P200 had was an oil cooler, something like an air cooler like in our homes. Oil is circulated to a small radiator , where it cools down and returns to engine. So SVC is correct about it being an air cooled bike.Originally posted by pradeepmundra View PostHi All, this is pradeep I have recently bought a p200 from my colleague and gave it for complete service as it was kept idle for a long time and asked to change all the oils, where the service centre folks are saying its an air cooled engine and doesn't have any special oil to cool the engine. Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi I have a small query regarding my P200 there was a metal sound coming from silencer after crossing 20 kmph and it stays and its quite irritating when I showed in service centre they said it need to be opened and checked as they suspect internal alignment might have gone wrong. Where I asked for a replacement they are saying 220 silencer can be fitted. Does the 220 and 200 have same silencer mine is a 2007 model P200. Waiting for your response as I need to sort it at the earliest.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Dude the p200 is a rock star buyyyyyyy apt for going 100s 300 every month great pickup and torque exhaust is also😀Originally posted by SawE69 View PostHi everyone, I am going to buy a Pulsar 200 Dtsi 2008. And I am like would that bike fit me? So, present I have an Apache RTR 160 of same year 2008. Now, about me, I bike drive fast real fast, So, the apache is done with me. I feel bored already(bought it 6 months back). I need much power that would balance with an average mileage of 40KMPL. I will be going for tours like 300kms once in a month. The question is will the pulsar be having any problems with my kind of driving. Ofcource i wouldn't do 100's all the time. But, mostly when i feel like adrenaline rush. And also what price could i buy it for? Ofcource I know all about the bike major problems like "were the clutch plates worn out. If the cylinder kit is OK?" Do you want me to mind something else before buying?
Thank you.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
This bike doesn't oil cooled means oil will cool the engine. A small radiator is present which has two pipes leading to it from the engine .Engine oil passes through these pipes to the radiator which cools it down by airOriginally posted by pradeepmundra View PostHi All, this is pradeep I have recently bought a p200 from my colleague and gave it for complete service as it was kept idle for a long time and asked to change all the oils, where the service centre folks are saying its an air cooled engine and doesn't have any special oil to cool the engine. Re: Bajaj Pulsar 200 Dtsi Sudden Jerk.......
Hey man what is at bar and how is 15 w50 oil. And we r supposed to use 20 w 50 right .tyOriginally posted by melwyn27 View PostOne more thing guys, it is mentioned in the service manual that de-carb has to be done at 30,000 kms. IMO this is really a very short period which is not required. It can be done at around 50,000 kms, where you come to know the proper condition of the block/piston or earlier in case your silencer is smoking. Saying this from the experience with my bike, P200 - 2007 model which has done almost 1,40,000 kms with one clutch plate work, 2 chainset changes, 1 timing chain/tensioner, cam-shaft change and 2 tire changes during this period.
The chain-set change was due to rough riding where i broke the chain twice. Even my mechanic advices me against opening the head saying that this hampers the compression of the bike, although he is ready to do it since he is paid for it
. One more thing i would advice is to change the clutch cable to that of P150 which is longer in length and provides a better play. P200 owners must have noticed the stock clutch cable is a bit tight around the T-Bar, which ofter hampers the clutch play and will lead to early worn out plates. Well this is just my experience with my bike. All the best to all the existing P200...one more thing, i use Motul 15W50 Mineral.
