Mods for Pulsar 200 DTS-i
HI Galaxian, I have a P220S (with a movable faring like your bike) and following are some suggestions of just my opinion only. 1. I am not sure about its fitment compatibility, but a better way would be to use its alloy rim along with the petalled disc. If Pulsar's disc & alloy rim are separated by an adaptor then your job is easier. Just get an adaptor fabricated & you are done. 2. Try a H4 55/60 W halogen if you just want brighter light without any fancy. Else a H4 HID kit in place of a bulb. 3) Metallic dark grey might look good, Golden would make it too gaudy. 4) No idea. 5) Can you post a picture of what you want to swap from R15? 6) I am not expert in this, take your bike to a shop and check it directly keeping them side by side. 7) There are experts in this forum who have already executed this modification on a 220 meter. The procedure is the same. Please post a picture of your existing meter also.Originally posted by Galaxian View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi Guys,
I am an existing owner of Pulsar 150 since June 2011 and was looking for an upgrade. I am feeling the lack of power and performance from my P150 one of the reasons being I tested Triumph Street Triple and Bonneville.
I have come across a March 2007, 38.5k Kms done, P200 for 28K negotiable. Is it worth a buy to satify ym hugner for a bit mroe power. I have been riding a 150 for the past 3 years now almost and I believe I can sustain another 1.5 years with the P200. Is it worth the buy?Regards,
Akash Yadav

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Friends, my 7 year old P200 is now suffering due to lack of quality service in PUNE, where I relocated 2.5 yrs ago. For the last 1.5 yrs I have been taking it to service at Sai Service, Phugewadi (PCMC). However performance, mileage and satisfaction has only deteriorated. Not only are my complaints ignored and overlooked, the service centre performs only routine service like oil change and cleaning, and offers to change only superficial parts. Scheduled replacement of engine components are not carried out despite my reminder and request.
I faced engine noise, drop in performance and mileage when driven over 4000 RPM and despite repeated complaints I was told point blank by the service center supervisor and manager that I should drive at near idle speed (35 - 40 kph) and that nothing was wrong with my bike, as the test drive in those conditions on smooth road went fine.
Earlier, I had repeatedly complained of electrical issues relating to the self-start but it took four visits to the service center and lot of screaming to get the loose and almost falling off screw connecting the neutral sensor diagnosed and rectified.
I need to drag down the bike every 2500 kms / 3 months as it doesn't ride smooth thereafter. Earlier I had explored various service centres, authorised and not, in PCMC but was thoroughly disappointed. All these service centres had either shortage of parts or experienced mechanic due to which critical problems were ignored and shoddy service provided lead to one failure or the other while driving.
I plan to get my Bike serviced at a better service center. I have located Gems Bajaj (Chinchwad) and SNK Bajaj (Wakadewadi) as being close to home (Old Sangvi). I tried calling both the service centres to enquire about parts but they were non-responsive.
I would like to continue to ride my bike for as long as possible. My current daily drive is around 90 kms, with occasional touring when it goes up to 200.
Please suggest from your experience, in terms of availability of spare parts and experienced mechanic (P200), which of the above service centres would you recommend? Or any other? Thanks in advance.

Try posting the same query in the Pune Offline thread, as this thread is not the most active around! You will probably get more help there.Originally posted by spagnet View PostFriends, my 7 year old P200 is now suffering due to lack of quality service in PUNE, where I relocated 2.5 yrs ago. .
I have chanced upon a 2007 200 dtsi a few weeks back. got it real cheap as it was a known lemon.
hoping to revive it. Currently in pretty bad state. smokey exhaust, piston/ cylinder doomed,
noisy valve, irratic idling, front shocker squeaking, front brake out of contention, kone set kaput, both tyres
original 7 year old, they look like race slicks
).. and the list goes on..
but its a fun little thing.
i am in process of gathering parts, had hard time looking for manual, finally found it on some
argentina forum..
Will post some pics soon. I hope some existing member still own 200 and will help
in bringing this lemon back to life
Here are some pics,
first line of business- > new shoes. decided to go for Michelin 90/90 17 pilot sporty front and 120/80 17 rear.
looks thinner than stock MRF, but grip is decent.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
That's an expensive affair but it's worth reviving it, no doubt pulsar 200 dtsi is the most exclusive ever pulsar. Go for P220/!80 handlebars too. Wish you all the best, keep us updated.Originally posted by mehuel View Postwill send it by evening, in office now

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
thanks. just added the pics,
and i agree with with you, at the end of this tunnel i see a sweet running, happy revving bike.
about the handle bar though, the only thing the previous owner changed in last 7 years was the handlebar after
his last crash few month back. and i just love it. there is something very soothing about its flow.

It was the best pulsar imo....trouble free and exciting to ride.
Mine got stolen and i really miss it. It was much more fun to ride it than the new NS(currently own one)sigpic

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Oho sudden revival of dead thread
Ok my bike's running fine but I am sick and tired of existing master cylinder that has an opaque window which does not let you see brake fluid (real genius on the part of Bajaj engineers, that) so I am going to get a P220 MC and the braided line as well. Anyone know the cost? Seems to be ~2K200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Trouble! too soon too!!
while returning from office, i stopped at a red light and voila, engine started making noise at idle, loud and noticable.
Not sure, but seems to be coming from tappet/ valve, and the noise reduces once i drive the revs up, and while running through
gears it sounds ok, but just only at idle the hell breaks loose.
though to be safe i did buy cylinder kit and valve set the very same day i bought the bike, I just wasn't expecting to use them
so early
, brakes and suspension were first on the list after tires.
did anyone else had this kind of issue? i dont want to open the engine just yet.
@ tanay: i will be headed to ASC this sunday, will get the price.

hoping to live that experience myself. Amen
