But still no automatic chain tensioner.. what does it do.. going by the name.. does it ensure your chain never needs adjustment? wonder how that works.. hmm...
Hey Wolfy and akshayee 11, Sorry guys, was little busy over last weekend as i was in Kari with Joel and also had some heavy assignments to finish thats why didn't check this!! btw, automatic chain tensioner will be attached in swing arm which has a powerful spring that keeps the chain tension tight. So, the need for tightening the chain often is eliminated to a certain extent and dosen't cost a bomb, just rs.250 Will definitely post the pics!!

The 220 rear disc setup costed me around 10 one year back and now with the IRC's coupled gives a great braking stability. Saving up for ABS now!!!

          • Hello again! I am going to give my bike for its first service in 2 or 3 days. I read in the manual that the cost of engine oil is not included. So which is a good oil to put in the bike now, it has clocked a little over 650km, money is not a problem, but the oil has to be available in Bangalore. Also, which oil or lubricant do I use for the chain?

Guardian, since this is your very first service, my suggestion would be this - you must not change the engine oil so soon to anything like the Motul or similar. Let the free services complete, till which time let the service center guys use the oil they use. I have been using the service center engine oil till date, and it has performed brilliantly for my kind of usage.

As for lubricating the chain, use SAE 90 grade oil - the Castrol 90 grade gear oil works really well in this regard. I, and many others use this on the O-Ring chains of their P200s and P220s respectively, and seem to be pretty satisfied with it. I, for one am damn happy with the Castrol 90 grade gear oil.

I suggest you use the r1100 as it is recomended for the Zma. the 200 is roughly the same capacity, so that would be better.

Dude, ZMA already has bigger jets and thats why they use R1100, i think for 200 RC1060 will suit the best with upjetting

Just take it to Probiking, and ask them to adjust the suspension spring to moderate!

You can also adjust it yourself. Open the toolkit and look for a tool which looks like ..well..just a long piece of metal with a small notch in it. That tool is used to turn the crown below the gas canisters on the suspensions' top. You can recognize the crown as it will be having many notches on it, which will be an exact fit on the tool. Just fit the tool and turn it to adjust as desired.

                          • theres a funny thing i discovered this monsoon compared to the last.. the grip in the wet is pretty good but with the tyres under-inflated. I was quite surprised to the difference it made! Im reluctant to get the inflated to the proper pressure just because its making such a difference!

The 200 is otherwise notorious for its skiddy slippy rear end if not the ever ready to slide front end on braking. It could also be the fact that i've used the bike a lot more than i did last year in the dry and so the tyre wear is a factor.

lots of possibilities... but was just wondering if anyone experimented and noticed a difference in grip only buy adjusting the pressure?

                            • its a very good tourer and it accerelate fast too but dude when it comes too twisties its little bit tacky i fell hard to push this bike (no offense) but anyways its a very good fir day to day cuty riding n i feel bad that Bajaj has stopped its production but on contrary i feel good that bajaj has taken a further step in terms of performance oriented bikes by launching 220 Carb version @70000 INR its a very good deal

As far as the first impression is concerned, as compared to the Classic 180, the P-200 feels a lot more sure-footed as far as the whole machine is concerned. Moreover, the posture of the bike is more sportier than the Classic. The P-200 has a front heavy seating position, which I personally don't have any qualms about. As for the looks, I have always preferred the naked, brute looks of the Classic which I will still maintain. But the faux tank scoops of the P-200 looks gorgeous to me!

As far as the ride goes, it definitely is better than the Classic. Going through bad roads or potholes, it feels way better composed than the Classic. But, one thing which I will again mention here is that the Classic had that grunt, that pull right from the word go, which the P-200 is missing; although once passed the 4k RPM, it does seem to pull nicely... I also miss the throaty exhaust note of the Classic 180.

The digital instrumentation is something that I am still getting used to. Although I am used to the analogue instrumentation of the Classic, the digital console is something which I just love to gawk at..

All in all, the experience thus far has been fantastic! Rest, after the run-in is complete..
