    coming back to the topic..
i recently got my p200 modified...
"what happens when a red beast meets a wild black jungle"
    this thread has it all..
the problem i am facing now is that i am trying to check my bike's top speed after the mod..because i personally feel that after the mod it has gone on a bit lower side of the pick up...it might be psychological....
    but anyways..
    yesterday, i could manage a 110 at 9rpm...
today...i managed 115, full throttle plus rpm a bit above than 9...
i will try to post a video soon of the speed+rpm thing..!...
i guess; the pick-up plus the top-end has suffered..!..
can this be because of worn out clutch-plates....?

PS---my bike is 18.2k and 2 years old fully stock when comes to engine and other performance parts....!..
also, i never ripped my bike before the modification..!...used to ride between 60-80kmph with short boosts of 90 and 100....never went beyond 105 during that period.....
well the top speed limitation may be due to overheating of the engine due to the fairing and also the added weight of the fairing. It maybe due to worn out clutch plates also. Since your bike has done 18.2k kms and no replacement of the clutch plates, it may be the time for a change. The manual recommends clutch plate replacement at 10k kms.

And talking about clutch plates, can the existing owners of p180UG3, P200 and the p220dtsFi get the smoother clutch plates from the P220DTS-i?

Also for putting a Osram NB only the Avenger coil change is needed..any other change ??
clip-ons come with their pros and cons...
      pros - better ridding position
cons-no comfort, back ache , wrist pain , fear of falling apart\breaking of the handle..u can't trust them...!...
in the end, it's your choice...

i understand that the top-end might have suffered because of the fairing and stuff..!..i don't mind that..!...but, is the pick-up likely to suffer too..!...that's the problem..!...as in...i hear a strange voice like i am ripping the bike , until i get from 0 to 75...but after that...as i push the throttle higher and take it to 80+...the voice dissapears...!...

also, should i change the entire clutch plate set or just the clutch plate{as the mechanic told me}.......?

can u be more detailed about the sound from ur engine?? And the pick-up loss might be due to the additional weight!

Maybe the fairing is vibrating. Also about your top end problem, check the RPM at which you touch the said speed. IF the RPM is excessively high it indicates clutch wear.

115 @ around 9k is quite NORMAL.. what's ur top end after the mod?? How much on 5k Rpm?? a standard stock P200 shows 68kms/h on 5k RPM.

                • Stock bike should touch 120 at 9000RPM (black tachometer one).

                          • hi Guys,

i too feel my p200 is bit rough. Just got it from 20K+ KMS service. i haven't changed the clutch plates. Can it be the reason for, roughness.. the topend i m getting is almost similar as radioactive....

I haven't changed the clutch plates since purchase.. only things changed are 1- NGK spark plugs 2- cone set.
i am planning to get K&N fitted, the CBZ guy is offering me that in 2500. the size for jetting hes suggesting me is 120. is it correct.
@Dual, i think u got the jets of 118.7 rite? old p180 ones.

Also can i get the spares of new p220DTSI, will its clutch plates improve anything.

i was thinking of it earlier...but dropped the plan...!...

Cone set, it was not that expensive.. something in 100-200 range... you need it if you feel handle is not moving freely. not sure WHEN you know you need that, CBZ guys told me to get it done, i did that.
NGK, yupp man,,, you def, wana change to that...i noticed a diff,, the bike was smooth. an the average was up... if you cobine them with spitfire cables, people say the average and performance improves furthur. i wasn't able to get the cables, but ya NGK is a sure add-on. Also since they are iridium ones, they last longer .. i was told 40K KMS. they will cost you arnd 1100 as we need couple.

Also i saw your post about grunting noise and fall in top end. that's typica pulsar200. When i had the new one and was under 10-11k's KMS. the biek was good , top end i touched was 119kmph, that too without opening up the full throttle!!.
Now the top end is 115 or max it goes to 117... grounting noises are there and the engine doesn't feel that smooth. don't know why it happens. similar thing is noticed by my another friend who has p200 too. i think maybe something todo with clutch plates. I am going to get them changed this sunday. If i get teh spare part of 220DTSI it will be good. lets see.. maybe some experianced guys can help us out.
