This has happened right across the various BAL platforms Aryan. The plates I have on my 180 now do not last very long, neither do the other wear and tear parts on the bike. It may just be worth scouting for a junked 180 V1 and cannibalising those parts. It's almost like what RD owners are doing, except we get the parts for our bikes but they're no good.Originally posted by Aryan View Post

@Rossiter: I TOTALLY agree with your each and every line. Severe cost cutting HAS to be the reason behind this, otherwise there is not really any-way that BAL can get ALL those goodies into the P220 and launch it under 80k odd!
But, it is sad too, because the mech. at the PBK workshop was not really 'all praises' for BAL. He even said, he has himself changed clutch plates of P220s/ 200s at 1500 odd kms. too!:)

hmm guys,, so with all these new bikes loaded with goodies getting launched,,, where did our beautiful p200 stands..
We don't have dual disks,, we don't have clip ons.. No beam lights hmmmm
still they are manageable... NOW big question,, WHAT's the TRUE TOP WHACK,,, and What's the position compared to the biggies...
I feel a bit disappointed that usually while comparing bikes, people tend to forget p200 from competition. Usually RTR 160 , R15, P220 or Karizma is talked about...
So lets compare them all here,,,Honestly, I need your help in picking up the duels, so that i hit the right punch on right time.
Only thing Gods envy of mortals is that they ride.

+1 to aryan, @Blueblitz yes, i do agree 200 dosen't have dual discs but it's not that one can never upgrade to a rear disk and clip-ons. I've upgraded my 200 with dual discs and every one here knows it, my upgradation of 220 fork and clipon set-up is on probation as spares are not readily available but very soon my 200 will have 220's forks and clip on's with the same old doom. Everything is possible mate, just that one needs to invest some time and money in it with loads and loads of dedication. As far as money, i too don't get it instantly and i'm not that capable too, But I'm SAVING for upgrades!!Originally posted by Aryan View Post@Blueblitz: What difference does it make if it doesn't have those "goodies" that the new bikes are coming with? The P200 is a lovely bike as it is. I, for one just love the ride quality and that torquey engine for what it is.

i got my bike's 22000k service done day before...Originally posted by Aryan View Post@Praji: Do what thaker1985 has suggested. It really works well.
Well, I got my P200 serviced today, at 17,070kms. Apart from the regular maintenance, which includes the engine oil flush and subsequent change, air-filter change, drive chain maintenance, etc., two things needed to be changed (and ofcourse I got them changed):
1. Timing chain, chain tensioner.
2. Clutch plates.
The bike is running really smooth post these changes. The pick-up has significantly improved and the machine, overall feels like butter! But, I am actually a little disappointed with Bajaj's part quality. On the Classic 180 Pulsar, my first set of clutch plates were changed at 56,000kms. while the timing chain was changed at a whopping 80,000 odd kms. mark!
And JUST 17,000 kms. old, the P200 already have consumed these parts! The technician who serviced my P200 said that I am one of the very few whose timing chain and clutch plates are being changed at 17k mark; there have been instances where people have got it changed at 5k mark even!
the usual periodic service stuff was done and also full decarbonizing..
nothing was changed..
when do i know when my clutch plates and timing chain and all should be changed??

Easy there man, we don't actually "acknowledge" street racing (It happens we just don't say it so) and try and avoid lingo, you don't want to get yourself red-flagged in the very first post, just a few pointersOriginally posted by krishaan View Posthell ya dude.... 200 is one awesome byk.... hv been riding my 200 since past 1 n a half years... n m really enthu to say... tht its still the upbeat ride... shoots lik a bullet n roars with every increasing rpm...

Thanks buddy..nw i am awaiting my 4th paid service .few problems are there with my bike.
1)the handle is not as like the stock bikes, some force extra is required to bend it to
both sides.sometime a smal sound is heard when it is bend to extreme . Some of my friends told me that the proble may be with ball tracer(someting like that,i dnt knw exactly).
2)rear tyre is vibrating very much.one of my friend in yamaha service centre told me that its time to change the bush.what is this bush?have u people also experienced similar troubles?
3)there is a vibration in rear foot rest.i have removed sari guard.can this be the reason for vibration?
I want to solve the above mentioned problem.so u people kindly share ur knowledge and help me.and pls tel me the parts i have to change in fourth paid service.i have already changed chain and clutch disc last time.

I got my fork cone set replaced some time back.Originally posted by sharath412 View PostThanks buddy..nw i am awaiting my 4th paid service .few problems are there with my bike.

The reason why you need extra force to bend the handlebars is that the mechs would have tightened the fork assembly nut-bolt (the one at the center of the handlebars, don't know the actual name) too much. Ask them to loosen it slightly.
As for the small noise, there is one very probable reason for it.
Put the bike on the center stand and bend the handle all the way to one side. Check if the dome plastic is rubbing against the 'fins' on the tank sides (where the Oil Cooled sticker is). This is a problem with many P200's as the 'fins' are attached to brackets that are (IMO) hand welded on to the tank and so not placed on the tank exactly as per design specifications.
If it is not rubbing on the fins then there may be a problem with the cone set. But that you will have to get confirmed by a mech.
Just got the chain sprocket kit replaced as well.
