  • 200 Decals on the tail

Guys have any of you used QuickFix or some strong adhesive to stick your '200' decals on the bike tail? Mine got stolen and I just bought a new set of 2 '200' decals costing 180 bucks.
If anyone has stuck using a good adhesive then could you please let me know if that has prevented theft of the stickers?

I'm also looking for a confirmation that using Quickfix or FeviQuick does indeed give a strong bond between the rubber sticker and the plastic tail, and has not resulted in damage?

If you use something like QuikFix, the paint will get damaged. Better use something like dendrite.

^^ +1 to that sab ke sab Joru (A.K.A our bikes) ke ghulam hai.

Jokes apart, I have actually been beaten by a UG3 180, on the Hosur road in bangalore.. dunno what the guy had done, prbbly the larger stock "117" jets clubbed with a K&N or something....
Thats the question many of my friends ask tooo if i have modified my bike... The fact is slick tyres, compared to 200 lesser overall weight makes this a good sprinter... If you are feeding it with motul 300V or a 5100 synthetic kinda oils and the tyres are properly inflated then its as good as a 200, the way it hits off the rev limiter even in the top gear has impressed me like hell from a long time.. Just a stretch of slightly more than 1km is enough for it to hit its rev limiter (128kmph).
Last time I tested 200, though the acceleration was slightly better than 180, it was in no mood to go above 131 no matter how much i tried and same day same place the 180 was hitting 128.. So the difference in the top speed is also negligible.
The 180 ug3 was really a good piece of machinery from bajaj..
Dont flame at me for this.. but its the fact, the 200 looks and feels good but the 180 is more of a raw and revver in nature!!

Not worth the head aches involved, just feed it with good oil and run tuning slightly towards rich mixture and the engine will be sufficiently cool..
Recently I did non stop 200kms and always maintained more than 85 everywhere. It never gave any sign of engine breakdown... so oil cooler is not really necessary on 180

              • Engine overheat

                Hi,

i have recently done 900KMS with my p200. After that on just the ending part of my journey i saw the eninge overheat blinker getting on again and again. My journey was split in 500 + 400 kms with one day rest in between but both the times the Roads+conditions were extreme and load on engine was high plus i was carrying a pillion.. I got it serviced from the Castrol Bike Zone but as usual they are able to clean an lubricate the bike but with Bajaj electronics and parts they don't play.. They are not able to understand why the blinker is getting on. Maybe there is something wrong with the sensor.. but similar thing i noticed few weeks back an the conditions were same "HEAVY RAINS" infact the bike engine was mud covered. BUT that time after washing, everything was normal..This time the blinker is remaining on...

Also the bike has completed 2400KMS, an i haven't done any part replacement apart from Spark Plugs and Cone set. Now is a dying sprocket can be the reason?? as its teeth are going ...Or it is Clutch plates.. but i am not sure as the bike is doing good in pickup and top-end.. but yaa i feel there is a bit lack in punch from some time...

I am planning to visit PBK in some time,, but in case someone has noticed this ,, it will help me deal with PBK guys better way
Only thing Gods envy of mortals is that they ride.

                • Of pot-holes, and "beep"-holes

                  Hola!

I did a bangalore-chennai non-stop trip this morning (on my beloved 200), what with all the hoopla about being home for Diwali, I wonder why i couldn't have followed the maruti ad campaign and asked for a lift from some unsuspecting Swift owner , using one'o those cheesy hand-written sign boards. If only my parents knew, that being home for a festival is only an excuse I use to make solo Bangalore-Chennai trips sound convincing . Coming back to the REAL issue, because of the "oh so concerned" NHAI, had to encounter a few unsolicited pot-holes, and unwelcome speed breakers.....now after I completed my trip, I noticed a few things....

                  1) The engine sounds a tad rougher than before the trip (do I dare say throatier?) NOTE: Engine oil level has gone down, though not below the required mark. I guess topping up should solve the second part.

                  2) The front forks/shocks sound like they're gonna fall right off at the next speed bump (It feels like suddenly the fork is loose and u hear a distinct "thud" when u hit a bump/pot-hole).

                  3) I did not notice this on the highways while the rip-fest was on, but when I rode at say 35-40 kmph, there started a whispering whine from the front wheel, not a continues one though, it increased as the rpms (of the front wheel) and decreased vice-versa. something in the lines of "choo - choo -choo -choo" apparently making a complete fool of myself is my part-time gig here at xbhp!

                  4) There is a wobble on my handle bars, at speeds between 45-65 KMPH. I suspect the credit goes to an unmarked speed-breaker near poonamallee (Chennai out-skirts). This same incident has (and i suspect this) caused a "dent" in the front alloy, and I have reason to believe this because the ride has not been the same, after the incident. Is there a way to confirm if there is a dent? if yes, then can it be rectified, or is changing the alloys, the only option.

                  5) After I reached home, immediately parked the bike on centre-stand, and slowly rotated the front wheel, I could feel a very subtle grind. felt like the front-disc grinding against the pads. Is this normal??

Now, If some of you could only throw some light on, as to how I could solve the above listed problems, or atleast voice your opinions out. (please dont say PBK...by personal experience I feel these are run by a bunch of pea-brained monkeys, headed by greedy buggers interested only in making a sale).

P.S About the last paragraph, no offence to anyone, just my "personal" opinion on Bajaj PBK centers based on previous experiences.

Cheers to all, and a happy Diwali/Gujarati new year

Last time when I stood on NH with that Cheesey Sign Board..a unsuspecting (read over horrified) swift owner nearly washed me down!
Obviously am not a Maruti fan now..and Left highway sign boarding, insted now I belive on Hamara Bajaj!!

If only my parents knew, that being home for a festival is only an excuse I use to make solo Bangalore-Chennai trips sound convincing .

boy.. ur parents should be on xbhp to take a look on what their son is actually doing!

Coming back to the REAL issue, because of the "oh so concerned" NHAI, had to encounter a few unsolicited pot-holes, and unwelcome speed breakers.....now after I completed my trip, I noticed a few things....

Servicing will sort out the prob!
Get the oil level correct or if possible get it changed

                    2) The front forks/shocks sound like they're gonna fall right off at the next speed bump (It feels like suddenly the fork is loose and u hear a distinct "thud" when u hit a bump/pot-hole).

They will fall coz they had went too loose..so insted of eyeballing on xbhp or hotbabes.com go get em furnished oiled and tightened!!

                    3) I did not notice this on the highways while the rip-fest was on, but when I rode at say 35-40 kmph, there started a whispering whine from the front wheel, not a continues one though, it increased as the rpms (of the front wheel) and decreased vice-versa. something in the lines of "choo - choo -choo -choo"
wheels never have the RPM, Engine has!
Though I dont think the problem will persist after getting the pads cleaned, re-oiling the shocks, checked dents!
Btw.. U bad boy, making ill noises(choo choo) on road aint gonna make ur bike happy!!

apparently making a complete fool of myself is my part-time gig here at xbhp!

                    shake hands

                    4) There is a wobble on my handle bars, at speeds between 45-65 KMPH. I suspect the credit goes to an unmarked speed-breaker near poonamallee (Chennai out-skirts). Wobble..can be due to shocks, they have gone too loose because u litrally hanged on em whole day long!
Now get em re-oiled and tightened..

If the air escapes then there is a dent or puncture!
If the dent is minor then it can be rectified..
Btw..holla..diwali's up, burn the pocket burn the alloy and get a new one from Pea Brained K Showrooms

                    5) After I reached home, immediately parked the bike on centre-stand, and slowly rotated the front wheel, I could feel a very subtle grind. felt like the front-disc grinding against the pads. Is this normal??

Maybe, thats the dirt in the disc pads, get em washed and then re-check!

PBK...by personal experience I feel these are run by a bunch of pea-brained monkeys, headed by greedy buggers interested only in making a sale).

                    you took my words!!!
For me PBK meant Please Beware showrooms..

Cheers to all, and a happy Diwali/Gujarati new year
wishing whole hearted Happy Diwali to you tooo..

                    • ^^ Err, rather than forks (which last for quite a long), I suspect the steering cone bearing. Get that checked.

                        • @all: What is the price of the rear mag wheel of the P200 and the MRF tyre that it (the rear) comes with?

During a recent ride to Lansdowne, a HUGE nail just pierced through one side of the tyre, went through it and landed on the mag wheel, damaging it permanently. At present, I am running on tube at the rear, but for SOME reason the air isn't holding on the tube either.

Hence, I am planning to get it replaced under insurance. But, I wanted to know the price beforehand.

                          Thanks.

I had enquired about this in connection with a rear disc installation.
The P220 rear alloy is somewhere around 5000. And the 200 alloy is a little cheaper, perhaps 4.5K or so.

Sorry for the vague figures but that's all I remember
