Is there anyway to remove the cat con and keep the same exhaust?

Any pictures of the can provided by KRP? I doubt if it would harm the engine unless your running very lean. ANy idea about the note? Might just be way too loud for touring?

Not sure if anyone's attempted that in P200/220s. But Ive seen Zmas, CBZs running with the OE end can sans the cat-con. The exhaust note is a dead giveaway in such specimens

I really doubt if its possible on the 200/220 twins. They seem to be completely sealed. No ridges, no screws, only welds.

        • Getting the pipe and the end can separated might allow access to take out/drill the baffles and probably even extract the cat-con.
Once that's done, you'd have to get the pipe welded though. However, I wonder if the procedure is worth the trouble.

Two strokers pipes had to be regualrly cleaned and AFAIK this was the procedure i.e cutting the pipe close to the can and then welding it back on.

          • Will tuning be required after putting a set of new exhausts? Expert opinions please. AFAIK free flow exhausts basically removes the back pressure of the exhaust gases, hence exhaust gases come out more freely. Anyone has an idea to the effects and ill-effects of free flow exhausts?

              ROTFLMAO Crap!

People would be breaking land speed records everyday if bumping up the power was so easy.

There might be a mild increase in power with just the FF exhaust just about the 1 bhp mark I guess. Some of the tech gurus can puts some more exact numbers here.

              25%....damn!

              0.25%....well maybe!

There's a difference between the 220 and 200 exhaust. The 220 exhaust runs without a Cat Con.

                • There is never a bhp increase by using a FF exhaust AFAIK... only the torque levels at different rpms change (a slight increase).

                  • HEy all,
I need some help in the way of advice, suggestions & opinions. My 200's pick up has reduced(to the point that a chevorlet spark was keeping up from a redlight drag with me almost redlining....now i know from exp that this is real real slow....). The last time this had happened I had gone to the service centre and they had told this was a problem and mentioned it as "gear loading". Now, does anybody know what they're referring to? I'm asking this Q so that i understand what the problem is fully, before giving it off for repair.

But the 200 roars louder than the 220!... Are you sure of 220 having no CatCon?

The PBK here in Bangalore had informed me about this when I was getting my 4th exhaust put! My 3rd exhaust was most probably a 200's exhaust. Coz the 4th one felt a lot more free and roary!

Nope, nothing like that....2 were replaced in crashes and 1 was replaced coz the internal welds broke.

                              • Tyre advice

Tyres are seriously bad, i'm also doubting on the alignment too, every time i come out of a corner it feels as though the bike is pulling to my left also the tyre wear also has a slight indication that it's left may be wearing a bit more than the right (this can also be my imagination due to the bad state the tyre is in and maybe i'm being thrown about by it), i dont know what to do, should i wait and get the CBR150 (or whatever it's called) or Ninja Z250's tyres? or should i go for the R15's/Fz's (depending upon the durability and effort needed to install either of them)??
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.
